Due to growth in systems orders and site installations, I am searching for an FIELD SERVICE & COMMISSIONING ENGINEER based in the West Midlands.
The Company designs Automated Systems - conveyors, palletisers, stackers, robotic cells, pick and place, materials handling and packaging systems for UK customers. You would join a small team which looks after all of the post design work: you'll be testing, pre-commissioning the systems in the factory, then installing, commissioning, wiring in new systems on customers sites, then service, fault finding, diagnostics, support, maintenance and repair of systems beyond that.

Electrical Design Engineer required to design electrical control panels, PLC hardware, possibly MCC's for large process control and automation projects. Wiring schematics, cable layouts, panel general arrangements using Autocad or E-Plan or similar electrical CAD design tools.
There's a broad range of automation projects with household name customers, all of which offers a variety of work, a bit of a challenge, and very strong job security.
There are ample opportunities to earn paid overtime after your basic 37.5hr week to add substantially to an already attractive basic salary and benefits package.

A wide ranging role for an Engineer from a manufacturer of fast, precision, cutting edge automated machinery, with a full order book.
Starting out in Test Engineering to learn the systems and technologies will use your existing PLC controlled machinery fault finding and diagnostics ability, adding more in areas such as pneumatics, electronics, electrical engineering.
After that training, the role widens out into Test, Service, Repair, Support, Installation and Commissioning of new machines and systems in the UK and Overseas. This will take the skills you have acquired in PLC, electrical, electronic and machinery engineer and use them to the full.
The amount of overseas travelling at that point isn't excessive- service and commissioning duties tend to be around 6-7 times a year for 1-2 weeks at a time, but you'll have to accept that travel is part of the job. And you can earn very well above the figures I have quoted when you do.

Working in a team of Design Engineers, you'll use your PLC programming experience(Siemens S7, Allen Bradley). If you have some Electrical Control panel design ability (E-Plan, Autocad Electrical, or Promis-E) or Robotic cell design and programming ability, that could be useful too.
There are always a variety of factory automation projects to keep it interesting, from food, automotive, packaging, welding, materials handling.....
