This is an exciting new role for a public sector authority. You will be a transport modelling specialist who will be providing transport modelling, economic and appraisal advice to support the development of major and other significant schemes that improve public transport; analysing evidence bases to help select schemes and provide the necessary technical input required to build business cases; obtain partner support and to support funding applications.
About You:
You will have substantial relevant experience in transport modelling and economic appraisal within a transport consultancy, local authority, Transport Executive or similar agency.
You will have experience of appraising transport schemes through the effective utilisation of relevant economic appraisal models/ and or other appropriate analytical tools.
You will have developed comprehensive business cases for transport schemes in accordance with DfT regional funding application requirements and have used current transport models or other analytical tools for appraisal.
Ideally you will have a good understanding of PRINCE2 project management processes and methodologies.
Your specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
1. Advise on the technical detail and specification of suitable and fit for purpose approaches relating to transport and economic modelling activity undertaken in order to ensure that the transport schemes submitted have robust modelling applied to them.
2. Direct and provide advice on business case, economic and modelling requirements including technical input into model specification, construction and operation of Major and significant schemes in order to ensure that the correct information is informing the model inputs.
3. Assist in the development of major and significant schemes, clarifying technical requirements and objectives of technical work and liaising with partners and potential partners in order to gain support for the schemes.
4. Prepare briefs for consultants engaged in economic/modelling development and analysis and manage their appointment and ongoing performance, acting as the key point of liaison with consultant modelling teams.
5. Undertake scheme appraisals to current guidance requirements and liaise with the Department for Transport on modelling and appraisal issues in order to ensure that schemes are robust for submission to Department for Transport and Regional funding applications.
6. Prepare project briefs for implementation by project management or delivery teams and provide on-going Strategic Planning representation to maintain scheme alignment with objectives.
7. Make recommendations on appropriate courses of action resulting from technical evidence gathered and consultants' work to Management Board the LTP Central team and internal meetings.
8. Participate in or lead as appropriate, internal project teams carrying out work in support of the Department's responsibilities.

My client is looking to recruit a IT Facilities Manager who will be reponsible for the implementation, development and maintainance of my clients internal IT/Facilities infrastructure, in-line with security management policies.
Responsible for configuring, installing, managing and maintaining equipment onsite
Create, drive and deliver a roadmap of improvements for IT infrastructure, encompassing security, compliance, performance and maintainability.
Ensure that the internal IT infrastructure policies are implemented and policed. Refine and create policies as required to meet the needs of the business
To oversee the current facility actions and to give support were required
To help understand the facilities roles and cross train others in the team to be able to pick up and work comfortably
To question approaches with regards to expenditure and the use of contractors
To effectively manage a team of individuals responsible for the daily operational tasks within your area
Performance management of a team of direct reports including conducting quarterly/ annual performance reviews, monthly one-2-ones and development and career planning (assisted by HOD).
Set clear expectations and standards whilst identifying different
Your background
A minimum of 3 years experience of supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting in an IT support environment
3+ years experience of Windows XP service support operations and change methodologies.
Significant experience of administering Windows Server 2003/2008, Exchange 2007, Vista, Windows7
Experience of Desktop PC hardware, software management, configuration and rollouts.
Experience of implementing enterprise-scale backup, recovery, monitoring and automation
Good understanding of IP network environments
Understanding of Linux (Debian, Redhat, SUSE) environments.
Experience of working in a dynamic environment
Ability to produce quality work to demanding timescales.
Ideally relevant industry qualifications or equivalent knowledge base.
Exceptional technical understanding and experience is essential
Interpersonal skills working within a team environment
Good organizational skills
Excellent trouble-shooting skills
Outstanding ability to communicate both in written and verbal form
