Responsibilities

2D and 3D seismic interpretation and mapping at the sub-regional to prospect scale in order to identify areas of maximum impact and produce high-quality maps for acreage assessment and for new drilling opportunities in proven oil and gas areas.
Generate new prospects and evaluate risk and volume for drill-site maturation including operational support in the planning and execution of drilling the prospect.
Participate in data room visits and generate quick turn-around evaluations of prospectivity giving technical recommendations for participation in new ventures or acreage extension opportunities beyond the existing Apache license areas.
Provide recommendations for new seismic purchases, acquisition areas, processing projects, and liaising with technical experts in the corporate office providing various geophysical support for acquisition, processing, and quantitative geophysical interpretation.
New Venture data integration from scouting, data rooms, and local knowledge
Work within tight deadlines and shifting priorities in order to maximize results and winning new acreage positions.
Coordinate and prepare Technical Committee Meetings with partners
Engender trust and confidence among Egyptian technical colleagues, providing mentoring and assistance as needed.

Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience in geophysical interpretation and mapping, preferably with foundation from a major integrated oil company.
Previous experience working new ventures in Africa/Middle East preferred.
Working experience with interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic. Ability to generate and interpret seismic attributes with experience in AVO for Pliocene-Oligocene evaluations.
Produce significant volumes of interpretations within tight time frames including data rooms

My client is looking to secure the services of a Development Geophysicist to identify drilling opportunities and support an active development drilling program. The ideal Development Geophysicist will have both geophysical and geologic skills. You will be able to interpret 3D seismic data and incorporate geologic data and production data to generate drilling opportunities in both mature fields and new developments.

Responsibilities

Generate seismic interpretations, geologic maps, and generate prospects.
Produce and maintain detailed 3D seismic interpretation and mapping at both the prospect and sub-regional scale over a number of producing field areas.
Generate drilling opportunities to support active drilling program.
Work with geologists to build and maintain static geologic models for use in volumetric calculations, well planning and simulation.
Effectively work as part of a team made up of geoscientists and reservoir engineers, drilling engineers and production engineers.

Key skills/Experience

Proven history in geophysical interpretation and mapping
Prior experience with either a major or mid-size E&P company
A track record of generating successful development drilling opportunities
Experience interpreting 3D seismic data in poor-data / structurally complex areas
Strong integration skills (seismic, log data, production data)
Recent experience generating both Seismic and geologic interpretations
Ability to generate geologic maps
Significant experience working as a development / production geologist
Experience generating static geologic models for use in volumetric calculations, well planning, or simulation
Experience with reserve assessments
Ability to generate synthetic seismograms
Be able to work within tight time-frame
Ability to work easily as part of a team (reservoir engineering, drilling, facilities)
Ability to interface effectively with national staff

It would be beneficial for the Development Geophysicist to be a proficient user of Petrel and possess an advanced/MSc degree in Geology or Geophysics.

My client is looking to identify a Development Geologist to provide geologic support needed to maintain an active development drilling and workover program. The Development Geologist's responsibilities will include identifying and maturing drilling opportunities and supplying geologic support to prospecting efforts. Experience with sedimentary facies and depositional analysis (including mapping)
Ability to utilize seismic data to aid in geologic interpretation
Experience generating static geologic models
Must have basic formation evaluation skills for clastic reservoirs.
Experience with reserve assessments
Ability to work within tight time-frame

To lead, supervise and administer all day-to-day commercial and contractual aspects of development of sub-contractor procurement.
