Our client is based in Manchester and are just entering their sixtieth year in business. They specialise in roofing and cladding and have built up a considerable degree of expertise over the years working for blue chip clients such as B&Q, Royal Mail and Aldi to name a few. Many other projects are carried out on retail parks and hospitals.
Our client are looking to recruit a cad technician to be based from their Manchester office, all drawing work is carried out in house and is recognised to be of the highest standard. The role will entail the following duties.
Preparing drawings on their CAD system
Checking incoming architects and engineers drawings to see that they provide the information needed.
Preparing query lists.
Ordering materials from your approved drawings and where necessary negotiating prices.
Preparing fixing specifications
Chasing up deliveries to ensure materials are delivered on time
Assisting the contract supervisors with any queries that may arise
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record working with AutoCAD and is essential that this experience has been gained working within the industrial and commercial sector of the roofing / cladding industry. Also they should be a team player and be able to demonstrate this on a day to day basis.
