Permanent role based in Bristol for a Client facing IT Project Manager to join a leading human resources software supplier. Your role will be to draw together a multi-disciplinary team of business analysts, consultants, developers, testers and trainers around a common goal and deliver software projects to the HR community. The software environment is web based and written in .NET, and some experience of Delphi would be helpful but not essential.
As an IT Project Manager you will manage the full project from client initiation to delivery and final signoff. This will require excellent client facing and negotiation skills, enabling you to manage client expectations throughout the project. The software is for the HR market so some experience of the HR domain would be a significant advantage. As a subject matter expert you would be expected to assist the pre-sales team with your technical knowledge.
This role requires some flexibility as you may be required to travel to client sites in the UK and Europe.

Project Managers required for our highly successful client, a market leader in the management of Public & Private Sector Academies Initiative. These roles will be based in London or Manchester with nationwide travel.
To be considered for this role you must have demonstrable Project Management experience in an area relevant to the Academies / Building Schools for the Future programme. Suitable experience could have been gained in Educational Management, Construction, Local government, related Academic/Public bodies or similar fields.
You will hold a key position, reporting to the Client Director you will be required to manage opportunities through the full project life cycle. Initially bidding to establish and manage the partnership responsible for designing and implementing each Academy then ensuring that the project objectives are coordinated, monitored and delivered. Your task will be to manage the delivery on time, to the highest quality and in line with the vision of the sponsors and partners.
Along with your project management skills you must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, excellent financial acumen and excellent relationship management enabling you to establish sound working practises with all the parties involved.
Responsibilities:
Manage the Bidding process:
~ To lead and contribute to the bidding solution and proposal writing/development for new Projects.
~ Identify detailed resource requirements and work with resourcing to secure suitable consultants and associates to deliver the project successfully.
Project Manage the solution:
~ On award of a Project, facilitate the internal Project Kick Off meeting ensuring all team members are clear on their roles and responsibilities and time scales for deliverables.
~ Oversee and monitor the quality of all deliverables on the Product Breakdown Structure and ensure that Funding Agreement is achieved within defined deadlines.
~ Develop the detailed Project Plan and final budget and implement monitoring mechanisms to track progress, identifying and resolving issues and initiating corrective action as required.
~ Manage the project budget and ensure an efficient utilisation of resources and skills.
~ Appraise and manage all risks to the Project.
~ Coordinate the activities, and provide day to day direction and guidance to team members on the status of the project and on specific risks and issues that need to be addressed. Evaluate team member performance on a regular basis.
~ Provide the Project Steering Group with advice and expertise, calling on appropriate specialists as required.
Negotiation with stakeholders:
~ Prepare Invitation to Tenders for third party suppliers and evaluate and select delivery partners for the various work streams.
~ Manage the relationships with third party contractors.
~ Ensure the project complies with all DCSF protocols, procedures and reporting requirements.
~ Pro actively manage the relationships with all key stakeholders e.g.. DCSF, Sponsors, LEA, Etc.
~ Negotiate any scope or budget changes required for the successful Project delivery.
Maintain Domain Knowledge:
~ Manage knowledge transfer within the Project and across the company.
