We have an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled Automation Team Leader to join our successful engineering team at our Stourton Dairy & Creamery in Leeds. Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Automation Team Leader will be a highly skilled technical professional who will combine their knowledge of automation and electrical engineering principles to maintain, develop, troubleshoot and validate site installed systems in a compliant manner. With a focus on ensuring the reliability of equipment on the plant, you will need to display a thorough knowledge of automation / IT hardware and software and technologies. Your key responsibility will be to provide the site with professional and technical support on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Process Control Systems and all other site Automation, to effectively support operational activities and continuously improve manufacturing performance. Other duties are as follows: Work effectively with solutions providers to maintain communications and company relations. Acquire a detailed understanding of all the different automation systems (distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, SCADA systems etc.) Ensure Arla's requirements and specifications are met and maintained during the design, build, installation and commissioning phases of any work that is being carried out on site. Ensure relevant training and support is delivered to Arla during all aspects of Automation work. Develop / Review preventative maintenance schedules. Ensure spare parts strategy is adhered to. Investigate and provide technical advice and support to manufacturing and other engineering disciplines on automation and IT related issues. Generate documentation and SOPs associated with each of the Automation systems as required. Operate according to SOPs developed for site engineering and maintenance Partner with different disciplines to deliver automation and IT projects in accordance with Arla guidelines. Manage the specification, development, installation and validation of automation and IT projects within budget and corporate guidelines Support operations with technical queries. Demonstrate commitment, upholding compliance in relation to product quality, people, safe working environment and change management. Responsible for contractor control and associated documentation/systems. Conduct, plan and improve preventative maintenance of site equipment. Conduct corrective maintenance in case of site equipment failure and breakdown. Prioritise workload to ensure rapid response to plant and equipment failures in a cost effective way. Order relevant spare parts and materials required. Communicate effectively to report on status of plant and equipment. Complete and update plant maintenance records complying with all departmental procedures. To be considered for this role, you will hold a recognised education path within Automation / Engineering or a Manufacturing related discipline plus relevant series of commercial / business awareness courses. Leading edge expertise in any/all of the following areas: Dairy processing, Filling and Packing Technology, Automation, Engineering Maintenance Systems, Lean Manufacturing and Robotics. You must have automation application and integration knowledge, software development and obsolescence management Knowledge of Ethernet networking and field bus systems (Profibus, Asi, Control Net, Device Net, Can Bus, WAN, LAN and WAP). We are currently seeking an Environment H&S Co-ordinator to join our team based in Taw Valley, Devon. The site produces 32,000 tonnes of cheddar cheese annually (including Tickler). The EHS coordinator is responsible for the coordination of general health, safety and environmental matters at the site. Working as part of the site team and reporting to the QEHS Manager, the EHS coordinator will coordinate the site activities aimed at achieving the Site specific work environment objectives and targets which have been set as part of the site health, safety and environment programme. As the EHS Coordinator you will work closely with the Group advisers to provide advice, support and 'hands on' assistance to site personnel to ensure a safe work environment, compliance with health, safety and environment legislation and the continued improvement of the site business performance. You will be involved in running state of the art processing equipment to produce high quality, award winning cheese for sale to major retailers and export.
