We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to join our successful site leadership team at our Settle Creamery, Arla Foods' only UHT production facility in the UK, nestled in the picturesque North Yorkshire Dales. Reporting to the Operations Director, your prime responsibility will be to produce the highest quality product in a reliable and cost effective way. You will also be expected to initiate and manage change initiatives relating to the Production Department to benefit the Company. You will lead and develop a team to ensure all areas of the operation are adequately resourced to deliver output and quality objectives. Working closely with the Operations Director and team members you will develop area CAPEX plans and budgets, managing budgets against actual performance and work with engineering colleagues to minimise downtime and maximise machine utilisation to budget or below. We are looking for an inspirational leader who has management experience gained in an FMCG or food environment. Dairy experience would be advantageous as will experience of working with lean principles and methodology. Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent the successful candidate will be resilient, with the ability to lead by example and manage with confidence and conviction. Reporting to the site QEHS Manager the main responsibilities of EHS Coordinator will include preparing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving (Q)EHS management system documentation, procedures and instructions (ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001), liaising with insurers with regards to employers liability claims and providing risk assessment and crisis management support. Additional responsibilities will include dealing with asset protection activities (eg - fire prevention) and managing and participating in EHS related projects. The successful candidate will have a wealth of experience in an EHS discipline in a food manufacturing / FMCG environment. Previous experience of working on an Environmental Agency PPC / Environmental Permitted Site is essential and you will have a degree or equivalent in an environmental, scientific or engineering subject. You will also hold a NEBOSH certificate/diploma, as well as an Environmental Management Qualification and an NVQ level 4 in Occupational Health and Safety Standards (desirable).
