A Lead DBA is required to join my clients Newcastle office.
As Lead DBA you will be reporting directly to the Development Manager and will be responsible for implementing data solutions for the company’s production infrastructure, whilst also designing and implementing the database application layer, supporting new technology efforts.
The Lead DBA must have strong analytical skills, experience with data models and database administration and will primarily be working within a MySQL environment. Ideally you will be highly proficient in RDBMS concepts, database design, SQL with knowledge of Relational Modelling. The Lead DBA must be proficient in tuning SQL queries and tables, with experience in dimensional modelling/ Business Intelligence tools being seen as a considerable advantage.
Ideally the Lead DBA will have a minimum of 3yrs database experience, preferably in MySQL in a UNIX environment, with knowledge of TCP/IP, ftp, UNIX shells and other Unix tools.
