RESPONSIBLE TO: Line Manager: General Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR: 2 accounts staff
JOB PURPOSE: To manage Accounts function, ensuring timely production of accurate monthly financial and management accounts for internal and external stakeholders
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To work as a key member of the management team providing a commercial and financial perspective to the running of the business.
2. To prepare and publish accurate monthly financial accounts in accordance with the accounting timetable.
3. To liaise with subsidiaries and other Group companies to ensure inter-company accounts are reconciled and monthly accounting timetable is met
4. Producing accurate and timely management information including management accounts, KPI’s and ad hoc reports
5. To manage the Company’s stock levels, ensuring accuracy through physical checks and reconciliations and optimisation in terms of quantity and value.
6. Ensuring good management of cash flows including maintenance of cashbook and bank reconciliations on a daily basis.
7. To monitor and manage debtors and creditors, including credit checks, cover and claims and setting of credit limits using appropriate risk assessment methods
8. Manage preparation and processing of Company payroll including year-end procedures
9. Manage Inland Revenue and Customs & Excise relationships (Income Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT, Import Duty, Export Receipts) and any audits.
10. Ensure that adequate systems of internal financial control and authority levels exist and are adhered to.
11. Ensure that the Company maintains correct and proper records of transactions and that the general ledger, stock records and fixed asset register are up to date. This will include monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
12. Produce year-end information for the statutory accounts and supervise year-end audit
13. To ensure that employee expense claims are coded and posted and to ensure that employee accounts are kept up to date. To ensure that expenses are paid promptly.
14. Maintaining accurate and proper books and records for the business including the preparation and processing of journal entries and such control account reconciliations that are necessary.
15. Work with the management team to produce business plans, annual budgets and sales targets.
16. To manage / administer Company IT function in conjunction with existing contracted outside agencies.
17. To authorise holiday and absence cover in line with company policies to ensure key tasks are carried out.
18. To be involved in recruitment and selection process for new personnel within the department and carry out employment reviews with new starters in line with company procedures
19. Conduct Performance & Development Reviews, setting and reviewing objectives in line with company procedures.
20. To comply fully at all times with the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines laid down in the performance of all duties.
21. To provide general back up assistance for other team members, including job cover in their absence, as required.
22. To carry out ad hoc tasks projects as required, and to carry our carry out any other duties as reasonably requested from time to time by your Line Manager or Functional Manager.
