Our client based in Exeter are renowned for being an extremely professional and friendly company to work for who now seek 2 x experienced Debt Collection Agent's on a 3 month temporary assignment that could be extended.
Hours:
Mon – Fri shifts between 8am – 8pm (7.5 hours per day)
Hourly Rate: £8.00 p/h
Role Objectives:
- To carry out the company’s procedures in respect of Recovery and Collections within a Customer Service environment ensuring that satisfactory collection performance is achieved and losses are minimised.
- To carry out all duties in a positive and enthusiastic manner delivering the best level of customer service to all internal and external customers.
- To achieve individual and team targets for performance, productivity and service levels and contribute to the achievement of organisational goals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- To use your initiative and put forward suggestions to improve processes and procedures.
- To look for opportunities to encourage a team working environment and lead by positive example.
- To process accounts in arrears, identified by reporting in an account work list, ensuring optimum recovery is achieved. This will include:
· Telephone contact with the customer and third parties
· Negotiating repayment arrangements and agreeing long term solutions with customers who are in arrears
· Processing administration charges to accounts in arrears following the Company’s charging procedures
· Preparing accounts for outside collection activity
· Responding to customer complaints in a polite and courteous manner
· Following collection flow-paths and ensuring appropriate follow up action is taken
· Achieving or exceeding target for collection performance, customer service, productivity, service levels and any other qualitative measures introduced by the Team Manager.
- To carry out arrears maintenance including resolving queries and disputes relating to accounts in arrears and rescheduling accounts when authorized by the Team Leader.
- To deal with telephone enquiries and customer correspondence, ensuring that departmental administration task are performed correctly and efficiently.
- To deal with collection/trace agency correspondence and prepare accounts for write off.
- To identify fraudulent accounts, reporting to the Team Leader.
- To liaise with other departments as required, encouraging a wider appreciation of the Debt Recovery Department.
- To carry out other duties as specified from time to time in accordance with the company’s business objectives.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Debt collection experience with excellent customer service skills.
- PC literate with good attention to detail and accurate data entry.
- Reliable with a hard work ethic.

My client are a Cost reduction company/national buying group specialising in reducing clients’ costs relating to a range of products and services who are currently recruiting for an Account Executive on a permanent basis. They are renowned for being an extremely professional and friendly company to work for.
Initially you will work within the Purchasing Team carrying out analysis work on behalf of the account managers to identify potential cost savings for clients.
Once trained on analysis work will go on to desk based account management of an existing account base consisting of between eighty and one hundred sites. You will be expected to ensure that all clients renew their contracts on a yearly basis and seek opportunities to sell-in added value products and services.
On a bi-monthly basis you will work with Purchasing Manager to identify product ranges or services suitable for a product push to client base. You will carry out an e-mail marketing campaign to promote the product/service, follow this up with pro-active telephone call encouraging the client to provide copies of their invoices relating to this particular product or service. You will then carry out analysis work to demonstrate the potential cost savings to the client and then present these findings to the client. If the client is interested will then arrange for the supplier to contact the client in order for contracts to be signed and implementation to be agreed.
Skills & Experience required:
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Good IT skills, particularly Excel.
- Numerate with an analytical approach.
- Business/Commercial acumen or interest.
- Quick to learn with a customer focussed approach.
- Ability to build business relationships.
- A thorough approach/conscientious about work.
- Keen to progress.
- Team player but also able to operate using own initiative.
- Preferably B2B experience.
