Main duties involve:
- Day to day servicing, strip down, rebuilds of engines and ancillary equipment i.e. gas pumps, valves, cooling systems.
- Ensuring maximum availability of units, by means of scheduled maintenance.
- Providing a 24hr response service for repairs and diagnostics of customer equipment.
- Documenting all site visits and maintaining van stock levels.

The ideal candidate will have both Mechanical and Electrical skills with knowledge from within a service environment. You should be computer literate, experienced ideally within industrial process controls. Gas engine experience is definitely necessary - the make of engine is unimportant - but needs to be based on medium to large engines.

Our client is a leading global operator of large-scale ‘Green Energy’ production facilities. With plans in place to build a series of new EfW sites in the UK, the company needs to recruit a top flight Civils Project Engineer, who will be a major driver in the delivery and management of these highly significant, prestigious capital projects.

The company HQ is based in the Midlands and the new sites will be developed across the UK. This means that the successful candidate must be prepared to travel widely as required, including working week days at HQ as appropriate.

This is a critical appointment and will require a broadly skilled and experienced individual with a huge amount of focus and delivery orientation.

The ideal candidate will have power generation experience, with a background in one or more of industrial boilers, steam turbines or large incinerators. Full project experience would be an advantage, as would a background in Waste to Energy. An understanding of environmental issues and full turnkey projects would be beneficial, as would experience of designing and implementation cost-effective modifications to help improve safety and reliability.

The successful candidate will bring a broad cross section of skills and competencies including:

-Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
-Strong project engineering background, preferably in the power industry.
-Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental -Experience in preparing detailed project programmes.
-Experience in managing contractors and consultants.
-Experienced in working with Utilities.
-Knowledge of quality control / assurance.
-Experience in developing power generation projects; however, experience in developing energy from waste projects would be preferred.
-Experience in power plant design or aspects of this.
-Able to review design drawings.
-Experience in preparing specifications and contracts.
