Exchange Street has been exclusively retained by this North West based Chartered Accountancy practice to bolster their financial planning team by inserting a new consultant into their Manchester office.
The existing financial planning team are exceptionally busy, writing sizeable sums of new business and managing a large amount of renewals, meaning they are not able to fully service the clients the firm has in place. This necessitates the need for a new advisor to establish contact with these clients and maximise the work the firm undertakes with them.
Our client requires any applicant to be an experienced and highly ethical advisor with a demonstrable track record of success in the independent arena. Consultants must be highly professional while holding the commercial focus to sign up business when opportunities arise. That said the support on offer is first class, with a dedicated technical support function in place.
Technical knowledge is a very important aspect of the role and it is expected that applicants have a good understanding of investment management, although this is a holistic role with advice also extending to tax mitigation (e.g. IHT planning, trust work etc) and some pension/protection work. In addition, current FSA authorisation for regulated financial planning is essential although advisers are expected to be close to completing the Diploma if they have not done so already.
The role offers an attractive salary and a generous commission structure with the advisor targeted on appointment levels and new business. Bonuses for cases referred by existing clients are paid at a much higher level which is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong new business skills. Earnings at the firm at this level average £40,000 - £50,000 although top performers earn a great deal more.

An international employee benefits consultancy with an enviable reputation, our client is seeking to recruit an additional number of senior pension administrators to cover existing team members who will be undertaking a project. The contract will be a fixed term one until 30th June 2012 with the possibility of permanent employment at the end given the company's ongoing growth.
Given the quality of the staff they are replacing, the organisation is seeking to speak with candidates who have worked within other third party, actuarial or benefit consultancies with a working understanding of occupational pension schemes (Defined contribution and defined benefit).
The position will entail the ongoing administration of a portfolio of group schemes (updating records, transferring benefits, calculating benefits, providing statements and processing retirements) with the administrator also responsible for queries arising from pension scheme members, IFAs and pension managers. Therefore an excellent degree of technical knowledge combined with professionalism and an eye for detail is vital.
Please speak with Exchange Street regarding hourly rates but the permanent staff are paid £22,000 - £28,000 per annum (plus extensive benefits) as a guide.
