The Role
An experienced Machine Tool Fitter is required to work as part of an excellent engineering team in an ongoing contract role, with the possibility of temp-to-perm. You will be responsible for Fitting Tools on various types of machinery. This will involve alignment of linear rails and ball screws, grinding, scraping and other adjustment techniques, using various hand tools and working from engineering drawings. Monday to Friday, day shifts available.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be experienced and fully-skilled at Machine Tool Fitting and will have Some basic knowledge of CNC operation. You must be able to read technical engineering drawings and have your own handtools.

Be responsible for achieving personal development plans for self and team.
Continually assess and review site technical training and development needs to ensure continued improvement in skills to meet the sites requirements.
Manage people through the agreed company policies and procedures to ensure equity and fairness.
Meet with Site Leadership Team & Technical Department regularly to ensure site and business priorities are communicated.
Operations Management
Manage the factory QC team so that it provides a cost effective, efficient, accurate and flexible service to the site which is able to constantly adapt to changing manufacturing circumstances.
Report on the sites quality performance through the application and monitoring of suitable and appropriate KPI's.
Work closely with the site support functions (HR & Supply) as required.
Communicate daily with manufacturing teams to ensure quality, GMP and new product and process tasks and standards are achieved.
Decision-Making
Site based decisions on technical, product quality and product release issues.
Elevating appropriate questions to the Factory General Manager.
Expenditure within agreed budgets.
Selecting and approving department appointments and training and development plans.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Technical discipline degree or alternative relevant experience
Sound background in and experience of Quality requirements within a production environment - preferable high care or 'ready to eat' factory experience

The Role
My client currently has a job for an Estimation Engineer based in Leicester. The role will require you to submit estimates/quotes to established and potential clients in the aerospace industry. The task will also require you to produce planning documentation for the work.
The Person
The ideal candidate must have:
*Previous experience in estimating and quoting on work
*Worked on a shop floor manufacturing parts on a CNC milling or turning machine
*A customer facing approach to all work
*The ability to build rapport with existing and new clients
It would also be advantageous if the candidate had:
*An engineering degree
*Previous experience of the aerospace industry
