The Role An experienced Machine Tool Fitter is required to work as part of an excellent engineering team in an ongoing contract role, with the possibility of temp-to-perm. You will be responsible for Fitting Tools on various types of machinery. This will involve alignment of linear rails and ball screws, grinding, scraping and other adjustment techniques, using various hand tools and working from engineering drawings. Monday to Friday, day shifts available.
The Candidate The successful candidate will be experienced and fully-skilled at Machine Tool Fitting and will have Some basic knowledge of CNC operation. You must be able to read technical engineering drawings and have your own handtools.

Manage the factory QC team so that it provides a cost effective, efficient, accurate and flexible service to the site which is able to constantly adapt to changing manufacturing circumstances. Report on the sites quality performance through the application and monitoring of suitable and appropriate KPI's. Work closely with the site support functions (HR & Supply) as required. Communicate daily with manufacturing teams to ensure quality, GMP and new product and process tasks and standards are achieved.
Decision-Making
Site based decisions on technical, product quality and product release issues. Elevating appropriate questions to the Factory General Manager. Expenditure within agreed budgets. Selecting and approving department appointments and training and development plans.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Technical discipline degree or alternative relevant experience Sound background in and experience of Quality requirements within a production environment - preferable high care or 'ready to eat' factory experience Management experience Strategic thinking
Must be able to : Lead by example and establish a method of working that places Quality and Food Safety as a given. By dynamic, assertive and passionate about quality and technical issues. Operate cross functionally and at all organisational levels in a confident manner in order to deliver a challenging and busy agenda. Assist the business in using its assets effectively in meeting the required technical standards. Understand, interpret and take proactive action on data and information as presented. Use problem solving techniques to aid the site team in improving quality performance. Understand the application of food regulations, HACCP and other food safety requirements on site.
