Job Overview: We have been requested to source and recruit and experienced Senior Setter for our client- a successful injection moulding company based in East Yorkshire. Working with Battenfeld injection moulding machines (up to circa 440 tonnes), associated robots and ancillary products, the role of Senior Setter will be to add technical expertise to the moulding facility ensuring the machines are correctly condition set, process issues are robustly rectified and manufactured products adhere to Quality standards. As Senior Setter you will also be required to assist in the training and development of setters and junior staff to raise the overall skill set of the site.
Person Requirements:
My client requires a confident and experienced injection moulding senior Setter or Technician who can show a demonstrable track record in a similar role. Ideally holding a relevant formal qualification and having completed relevant training (BPTA, G&A Moulding etc) the successful candidate will be have the ability to inspire those around them.
As technical point of contact, the successful candidate will be fully conversant with all aspects of trouble shooting, process optimising, condition setting with a broad understanding of polymers including exotics (PEEK, Glass filled, PPS etc).

Job Overview: We have been tasked by our client (a successful supplier of components to the automotive industry) to source several Quality Engineers to work initially on a contract basis for between 3-6 months at our client’s manufacturing plants in either Birmingham or Oxford. As Quality Engineer you will be required to work on your own initiative in a TS16949 environment, liaising closely with clients and specifically responsible for PPAP work in line with customer expectations. Person Requirements:
Ideally Apprenticeship served and holding a formal, relevant qualification (plastics processing and/or materials technology) with a demonstrable track record of completing formal training in plastics processing (BPTA, G&A, Grad.PRI or equivalent), my client requires an extremely competent and skilled injection moulding professional with both a passion for and high technical working knowledge of injection mould processing.
A working knowledge of FMEA is ideal with SPC experience, knowledge and training on Computer mould design and flow programs and Six Sigma (black or green belt ideal) experience seen as advantageous.
A minimum of Five years injection moulding in a medium to high volume manufacturing environment is required with all interested applicants being required to show a demonstrable ability of setting machines/ancillaries, optimising and validating processes with relevant project management experience.
Effective communication skills at all levels, the ability to impart information, train and develop others, compile and present relevant reporting and adopt excellent time management skills with the ability to adapt as projects require are seen as essential traits.

Desirable skills & experience must be: ‘Hands on’ approach to mechanical engineering, 3D CAD proficient – prefer SolidWorks, but equivalent acceptable (CATIA V5, Pro/Engineer, etc), Knowledge of low volume manufacturing and rapid prototyping techniques, Practical experience of Mil-Std/Def-Stan compliance testing, Design of Hydraulic/Electro-mechanical systems particularly Robotics, possibly Robotic Vehicle design experience, Experience of thermal management of electronic assemblies in harsh environments, hold an Engineering Degree or equivalent or higher, and have a minimum of 5 years experience.
Full Job Spec:
The job holder will be responsible for the development of the mechanical aspects of new design projects, and implementing the mechanical aspects of Engineering Change Orders. They will work in conjunction with other engineering disciplines to ensure the delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Mechanical design and development of innovative new projects using latest technologies including electro-hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems, enclosures for harsh environments and Electro Magnetic Compatibility
• Address Mechanical Design, material and part issues on Engineering Change Orders
• Consideration of product fabrication methods and surface treatment, costs and general lead times.
• Produce high quality Mechanical Engineering Documentation including 3D models; drawings and assemblies; FEA reports and prototype test reports.
• Work with PLM and ERP systems to ensure Production have access to complete, current and correct data.
• Manage procurement for and build of prototypes, liaising with suppliers and manufactures as required.
• Drive functional test programs onsite and with external agencies
• Interface with Production Engineering to ensure product transition smoothly to production
• Present production design reviews and incorporate agreed design changes
• Ensure new projects comply with the Statement of Requirements including applicable EMC and Environmental standards
• Troubleshoot and improve existing products whilst reducing cost in manufacture and production
• Undertake any other reasonable task required by the Line Manager
• Travel as required
• Performs other duties as assigned
