Scope of position
Complete Manufacturing engineering activities on new and current processes and equipment, and support the continuous improvement of the site using lean methodologies and substantive process engineering practises

• Run a programme of improvement and cost reduction.

• Leadership and deployment of Manufacturing Engineer resource
• Deploy and maintain necessary documentation including, standard operation sheets, MTM studies, process flows & PFME
• Leading the development of Manufacturing Engineers
• Plus any other ad hoc duties required to fulfill the job role

Qualifications

Job Brief –
Dealing with the supply of raw materials, production of finished parts through to ensuring all Customer requirements are met. To manage a portfolio of suppliers and internal customers and ensure scheduled demands are met in full and that customer requirements are delivered on time. To create weekly (and update daily) the Plant Master Production Schedule (MPS) and the Plan for Daily Production (PDP) for the scheduling and assembly areas. To issue the plan and support the daily Production meeting to ensure accurate adherence to the plan. To react to production performance and ensure customer requirements are met.

• Overseeing the production of Supplier schedules, and dealing with any queries that arise, with the aim of achieving 100% Supplier delivery on time.
• Overseeing the issuing of Production build plans and maintaining Kanban systems for Production to work to, ensuring parts are made to a finished stock store, with the aim of achieving 100% delivery.
• Ensuring Customer Demand is met. Liaising with customers, ensuring any issues surrounding supply of their parts is communicated i.e. packaging, transport, quality, systems, both internally and externally.
• Control freight to minimise premium freight, and ensure budget for freight costs is met.
• Communicate with all internal departments on any supplier, production, or customer issues that arise.
• Downloading Customer Schedules
• Calculating the net demand in conjunction with the Customer Services Analysts
• Developing a plan that minimises tool changes and maximises efficiency
• Delivering a plan that maintains plant Finished Goods stock targets
• Support Shift Administration in collating production output
• Adjusting the plan in reaction to changing demand or performance issues
• Calculating & Reporting on Production Performance

REQUIRED QUALITIES
Communicative, enthusiastic, organised, able to work in a team and use own initiative. Flexibility to take on other responsibilities to cover for absence, holidays, sickness of other members of the team. Previous managerial skills are required. Have experience of / or understanding of MRP systems. Basic computer knowledge, with a good understanding of Excel.

Job Specification:
Scope:
The New Product Introduction Engineers (NPI) will be responsible for all aspects of the quality Planning and development for their assigned customers, projects or products. The aspects of assurance are detailed in the primary duties.

Responsibility:
The NPI Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all elements of APQP or other customer systems are completed within the time frame as defined in the master project plan. The work to be completed and the timing will be defined within the quality system procedures and processes.

Summary of Duties:
NPI engineers work along side the project manager and within the project team, they ensure the aspects of quality are addressed for new projects, they ensure all documentation as defined within the company process and procedures is completed on time, before handing it over the SQAE. They work with supplier on APQP of purchase parts for their new projects and supplier part quality. They check the quality of out going parts at pre-production stages and hand over to the production team.

Primary duties:
Customer liaison.
• Support of customer quality representatives project stage
• Visit to customers for project issues

Advanced Quality Planning (Incl. Inspection Planning).
• Complete Initial sample reports to customers, on the required media
• Support Cross functional teams on APQP activities.

Quality support of programme
• Review controls on the various programmes and ensure that they prevent errors
• Support customer approval and change requests
Rework and repair
• Obtain customer concessions if required.

Rejects (Scrapped from customers)
• Ensure all internal staff aware of all non-conforming material at customers.
• Arrange collection or return.
• Investigate cause & Take action as required

Rework at customers
• Arrange, control, monitor and supervisor inspection and or rework, monitor and approve, control costs.
• Customer visits & Reports

Quality Training
• Identify training needs within all quality aspect of the business, and develop plans to give training to fill these needs.
Laboratory tests
• Arrange for any external testing of serial production parts.
• Report on results of Laboratory results.
Rework and repair
• Monitor all rework.
• Issue rework instructions.

Subcontractor quality issues (Incl Suppliers) at your signed customers.
• Arrange, control, monitor and supervisor all internal & External inspection or production.
• Manage external and internal sorts, including costs, PO & closure.
