Job Overview: We have been tasked by our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer & 1st tier supplier to several key automotive OEM’s to source and recruit a Logistics / MP&L Scheduler within the Logistics department on a 3 to 6 month contract with an immediate start for the right calibre candidate. This position is responsible for overseeing the production of supplier schedules, dealing with raw material suppliers, ensuring customer demand is met, freight control, and have a sound understanding of MRP systems. As Logistics / MP&L Scheduler you will also be required to daily update master schedules, plan for daily production, maintain plans to deliver finished goods stock target, and raising purchase orders. As Logistics / MP&L Scheduler you will be expected to be an excellent communicator, able to liaise with all internal departments as well as customers, you will also be enthusiastic, organised and have excellent IT skills. Job Brief –
Dealing with the supply of raw materials, production of finished parts through to ensuring all Customer requirements are met. To manage a portfolio of suppliers and internal customers and ensure scheduled demands are met in full and that customer requirements are delivered on time. To create weekly (and update daily) the Plant Master Production Schedule (MPS) and the Plan for Daily Production (PDP) for the scheduling and assembly areas. To issue the plan and support the daily Production meeting to ensure accurate adherence to the plan. To react to production performance and ensure customer requirements are met.
• Overseeing the production of Supplier schedules, and dealing with any queries that arise, with the aim of achieving 100% Supplier delivery on time.
• Overseeing the issuing of Production build plans and maintaining Kanban systems for Production to work to, ensuring parts are made to a finished stock store, with the aim of achieving 100% delivery.
• Ensuring Customer Demand is met. Liaising with customers, ensuring any issues surrounding supply of their parts is communicated i.e. packaging, transport, quality, systems, both internally and externally.
• Control freight to minimise premium freight, and ensure budget for freight costs is met.
• Communicate with all internal departments on any supplier, production, or customer issues that arise.
• Downloading Customer Schedules
• Calculating the net demand in conjunction with the Customer Services Analysts
• Developing a plan that minimises tool changes and maximises efficiency
• Delivering a plan that maintains plant Finished Goods stock targets
• Support Shift Administration in collating production output
• Adjusting the plan in reaction to changing demand or performance issues
• Calculating & Reporting on Production Performance
REQUIRED QUALITIES
Communicative, enthusiastic, organised, able to work in a team and use own initiative. Flexibility to take on other responsibilities to cover for absence, holidays, sickness of other members of the team. Previous managerial skills are required. Have experience of / or understanding of MRP systems. Basic computer knowledge, with a good understanding of Excel.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• GCSE passes in English and Maths or equivalent and / or Administration qualification
• Post Secondary education business related qualification would be desirable
• IT literate including Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet and email applications is essential
• Experience in a similar administration role is desirable
• Good organisation skills, self motivated and ability to work under pressure
• Good communication skills both written and spoken
• Capable of interacting with all levels externally and within the organisation
• Literate and numerate
• Able to carry out instructions and work on own initiative
