A vacancy has arisen for an Electrical Project Engineer to be based at our clients Montrose facility.
You will be responsible for assigned projects from initial enquiry through to delivery of solution. This will include preparing cost and duration estimates, issuing proposals, liaising with customers, managing internal and external resources and monitoring progress to achieve successful project outcomes.
In this role you'll apply technical knowledge and excellent organisational skills to deliver a
variety of challenging projects.
This position requires candidates with a strong technical background relating to electrical equipment or control systems. Experience of oilfield equipment is highly desired but not essential.
You must be highly organised and able to plan and manage multiple ongoing projects while ensuring new enquiries are also processed.
You must also have good attention to detail and excellent planning, time management and communication skills.
A degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, is desired but relevant experience will be considered.
The ideal applicant shall be conversant with offshore power distribution systems, be familiar with drive systems and knowledgeable of automated drilling control systems. Ideally the candidate should be experienced in the use of AutoCAD and be able to meet tight deadlines.
The post will suit someone who enjoys a technical challenge. The applicant will likely have an HND or degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification.

Basic purpose of the job
- Accountable for producing and delivering all planning deliverables and reports in a timely manner

- (b) Liaise with the Estimating/Project Engineers/Lead Engineers/Construction Engineers/Client and others as appropriate to identify and quantify project scope.
- (c) Prepare plans in conjunction with those responsible for their execution, for all project work in accordance with project procedures.
- (d) Development, management and distribution of Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 project plans as required for each element of work authorised by the Client.
- (e) Review externally produced plans to ensure they comply with the needs of the project.
- (f) Integrate plans for individual jobs into overall project plan.
- (g) Collate and download progress as provided by those responsible for the execution of the work.
- (h) Progress reporting including manhour, progress & productivity reports/histograms/fully developed working plan/s-curves/forecasts.
- (i) Identify areas where performance is at variance with the baseline plan and discuss corrective action with those responsible for the execution of the work.
- (j) Review & monitor planning processes and procedures to maintain a continuous improvement programme.
- (k) Control of Engineering CTR/Jobcard data.
- (l) Support Project Engineer during regular progress meetings.
- (m) Produce ad-hoc plans as required within the Contract.
- (n) Interface with cost control department to forecast final man-hour estimated expenditure.Liaise with the Estimating/Project Engineers/Lead Engineers/Construction Engineers/Client and others as appropriate to identify and quantify project scope

Successful candidates will have:
- Project Engineering background from a Subsea Oil & Gas background
- Experience of Offshore Subsea Construction projects
My client is looking to hire immediately and willing to pay up to £550 per day for the right Project Engineer who can demonstrate the desired Oil & Gas Subsea Construction experience.
