This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced field based Printed Circuit Board Sales Engineer to join a leading UK manufacturer of Printed Circuit Boards, for the aerospace, defence, security and high technology industries.
Home based, this role will report directly to the Business Development Manager and can based anywhere in the South of the UK, with M4 corridor a preference.
Salary to £35k plus car, laptop and mobile.
The PCB Sales Engineer will be responsible for developing new and maintaining existing business throughout the south of the United Kingdom. Only those with a background in sales within the PCB market will be considered.
As a technical sales engineer, you'll combine technical knowledge of printed circuit board manufacturing with sales skills. The balance depends on the level of technical knowledge and understanding you'll need to sell the printed circuit boards and to respond to clients' inquires.
Duties include:
Searching for new clients who could benefit from printed circuit board products in your designated region. Travelling to visit potential/ existing clients. Establishing new, and maintaining existing, long-term relationships with customers. Managing and interpreting customer requirements. Calculating client quotations. Negotiating tender and contract terms. Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions. Administering client accounts. Preparing weekly reports for head office via CRM management software. Meeting regular sales targets. Recording and maintaining client contact data via CRM software. Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events. Making technical presentations and site visits to meet client needs. Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education. Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts on daily/ weekly basis; Solving client problems.
Hours
Long or irregular hours are normal. You'll arrange your time planning visits to potential/ new client/ existing clients, and visiting these on a weekly basis.
As well as clients, you'll also travel to trade shows and conferences as appropriate for role.

To be a printed circuit board sales engineer you'll need:
A solid technical background of printed circuit board manufacturing and current technology. Your ability to bring in work will affect the success of the company, so you will be judged on results. Sound judgement and good business sense Team working ability The ability to build relationships with clients quickly Analytical and problem-solving skills Resilience and tenacity Independence. A full driving licence. Field based technical sales engineer, must have a sound knowledge of printed circuit board manufacturing i.e. knowledge of PTH Boards, Multi-Layer Boards, Flexi-Rigid, buried via, buried capacitance/ resistance etc. And be up to date with current PCB trends and technology.
Role demands working in the south of the United Kingdom visiting potential/ existing clients Monday to Friday.
Must be able to plan/ arrange visits to clients whilst in the field.
You will be required to report back to head office on a quarterly basis and to attend sales briefings and technical updates or to accompany clients during site visits to our manufacturing facilities.
