A Senior Mechanical Design engineer must be able to be technically responsible for the design of engineering projects in either the Gas and Oil Sector or the Water Sector with a turnover of between £20 and £50 million per year. He / she would manage and supervise between 2 and 4 design engineers plus CAD personnel totaling of the order of 10,000 man hours per year. This includes the provision of technical engineering advice at some or all of the following phases of projects or schemes: pre-tender, pre-construction, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance.
1. Implement engineering designs in compliance with Health & Safety Legislation.
2. Receive, interpret and implement the requirements of supervising design manager.
3. Be actively involved in the interpretation and development of the Client’s design requirements for both the bid process and during the contract stage.
4. Ensure that project and company quality procedures together with business management systems are implemented at all times.
5. Ensure that all relevant documentation is produced in compliance with legislation, codes and standards and client requirements.
6. Ensure that design documents produced in-house are technically correct clear / understandable and distributed to all relevant parties to suit programme requirements.
7. Apply engineering principles in the preparation of calculations, specifications, reports, schedules, drawings/sketches and resolution of engineering challenges within specialist area of knowledge
8. Ensure preparation of design Health and Safety documentation.
9. Provide relevant technical information when required for the delivery of design and/or construction

At least three years experience working as Quality engineer or Senior Process Engineer or Design Engineer likely to be in one of the following sectors: Medical Device, MoD, automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics or FMCG
Assigned to one or more projects to prove quality engineering and regulatory expertise in support of design development projects.
