Purpose of Role:
Plan and control all scheduling activities. Balance production and inventory levels with demand to support target consistent with 99% customer service levels, inventory turn goals and capacity utilisation.
Key Accountabilities:

A vacancy has arisen for a permanent, full time technically competent, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, working within the Design and Development Department.
The design engineers are individually responsible for projects through the full life cycle of a product, from initial conception to full production. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: o Development novel and effective surgeon-driven electro-surgical instruments that improve patient outcome and enable faster recovery. o Carry out engineering design activities which contribute to the entire development process including: research, concept generation and selection, development, CAD modelling, calculations, analysis, FMEA, engineering drawings, tolerance analysis, FEA, prototyping, testing, design for manufacture, design reviews, design verification and validation. o Provide input on product support issues to promote and maintain flow of revenue by participating in investigations, containment, corrective, preventive, improvement, inspection and cost reduction activities. o

Good communication skills and a high level of accuracy are essential. Experience in a Medical Device facility and knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations (21 CFR 820) would be advantageous

A vacancy has arisen for a permanent, full time technically competent, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, working within the Design and Development Department.
The design engineers are individually responsible for projects through the full life cycle of a product, from initial conception to full production. The role involves full liaison with industrial designers, toolmakers and sub-contractors, on and off-site and with all levels of staff in our large, modern manufacturing facilities.
The design team, currently comprising a number of permanent designers led by the Design and Development Director, use advanced design and development software packages (Pro-E Wildfire 4) and have state of the art prototyping facilities including a rapid prototyping machine.
Suitable applicants will have:
Extensive experience in the design of precision mechanical products, mechanisms and assemblies incorporating plastic mouldings, die castings and machined components.
Previous experience which may include design of consumer type products such as mobile phones and similar telecoms equipment, printers, fax machines, copiers i.e. products of a similar scale and intricacy to own, using similar materials.
Experience of machining, tolerancing and mechanical assemblies and mechanisms is also ideally required.
Extensive experience of 3D CAD systems is essential and with particular emphasis on Pro/Engineer Wildfire (4).
Candidates need to be dynamic, hands-on designers, able to work with minimum supervision and capable of dealing with more than one project at a time. Individuals with a keen interest and a high degree of self-motivation will thrive as part of our team in the informal working environment
