ROLE SUMMARY:
The design engineers are individually responsible for projects through the full life cycle of a product, from initial conception to full production. The role involves full liaison with industrial designers, toolmakers and sub-contractors, on and off-site and with all levels of staff in our large, modern manufacturing facilities.
The design team, currently comprising four permanent designers led by the Design and Development Director, use advanced design and development software packages (Pro-E Wildfire 4) and have state of the art prototyping facilities including a rapid prototyping machine. Within the department there is also a Design Project Manager, Design Support Engineer, plus designated Toolroom and CAD support.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Candidates should have experience in the design of precision mechanical products, mechanisms and assemblies incorporating plastic mouldings, die castings and machined components. Suitable previous experience may include design of consumer type products such as mobile phones and similar telecoms equipment, printers, fax machines, copiers, white goods etc. Generally these are products of a similar scale and intricacy to own, using similar materials, and experience of machining, tolerancing and mechanical assemblies and mechanisms is also ideally required.
Extensive experience of 3D CAD systems is essential and with particular emphasis on Pro/Engineer Wildfire (4). Candidates will need a strong mechanical engineering background with a minimum qualification of HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or equivalent.

ROLE SUMMARY:
The design engineers are individually responsible for projects through the full life cycle of a product, from initial conception to full production. The role involves full liaison with industrial designers, toolmakers and sub-contractors, on and off-site and with all levels of staff in our large, modern manufacturing facilities.
The design team, currently comprising four permanent designers led by the Design and Development Director, use advanced design and development software packages (Pro-E Wildfire 4) and have state of the art prototyping facilities including a rapid prototyping machine. Within the department there is also a Design Project Manager, Design Support Engineer, plus designated Toolroom and CAD support.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Candidates should have experience in the design of precision mechanical products, mechanisms and assemblies incorporating plastic mouldings, die castings and machined components. Suitable previous experience may include design of consumer type products such as mobile phones and similar telecoms equipment, printers, fax machines, copiers, white goods etc. Generally these are products of a similar scale and intricacy to own, using similar materials, and experience of machining, tolerancing and mechanical assemblies and mechanisms is also ideally required.
Extensive experience of 3D CAD systems is essential and with particular emphasis on Pro/Engineer Wildfire (4). Candidates will need a strong mechanical engineering background with a minimum qualification of HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or equivalent.
Candidates need to be dynamic, hands-on designers, able to work with minimum supervision and capable of dealing with more than one project at a time. Individuals with a keen interest and a high degree of self-motivation will thrive as part of our team in the informal working environment.

Responsible for field support, the provision of rental equipment & tooling, spare parts and field technical support. Workscopes includes mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, medium voltage electrical and fibre optic re-termination of subsea cables, systems. The group also carries out / supervises the installation and testing of systems both onshore and offshore worldwide.
Main duties of the job
Support the implementation and development of an asset tracking system including integrating all equipment by s/n, p/n & description into a software based system
Agree and firm up equipment standard pricing for day rate rentals and apply to system to automate the days of service for all assets which will support an automated customer invoice process
Create a transparent system that identifies all 3rd party rental equipment on hire based on daily hire costs
Identify and have agreement on how to store and manage assets that are held on site
Develop the knowledge & skills to perform equipment & tooling inspections and audits including ensuring items are checked out and upon return from the field
Support other regional equipment support requirements such as Asia Pacific
Ensure that assets maintenance and calibration costs are agreed for budget and costing purposes and are maintained
Plan for upcoming work by interfacing closely (daily) with the Senior Sales Co-ordinator and the Service Support Engineers
Provide quotation input for all field service workscopes that are to include asset & rental product services
Provide departmental and team support by developing the ability to provide quotations in accordance with the Sales & Commercial Procedure
Review Customer Purchase Orders, and Contract Call-Off’s as required
Provide departmental and team support by raising Sales Orders on the Visual Manufacturing system, and generate and issue Sales Orders internally
Issue Customer Order Acknowledgements confirming order content and delivery schedule
Generate Commercial Summaries for Spares & Rental Sales Orders, including
Comply with the company’s health and safety policy. Ensure that all work completed is carried out with safety as a priority
Support the Company initiatives to gain and retain ISO 9001 & 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditations. Staff are required to be aware of the Standards and ensure they operate to them.
Qualifications and experience required
Minimum HNC qualification in Mechanical or Electrical technical subject.
Have previous ERP system experience including development of processes, procedure to support continuous business improvements.
