As a Structural Engineer you will be spending 25% of your time dealing with design and hand calculations. Good communication skills are needed as 20% of the time you will in contact with clients and 10% of your time will be spent on face to face client meetings. The remainder of your time will be spent on suggesting engineering judgment on masonry repairs. There is a lot of travelling associated with this role and you could be asked to go to a site or meet a client in the UK or abroad. Travelling is regular and when required abroad this company has clients in countries such as Cambodia, USA, Australia, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and many more. It is essential that you have a driver's licence and a car as there will be plenty of business travel in the UK.
