You will also be responsible for the specification and delivery of the firm's capital programme. You will be the key source of advice for the firm on all building and engineering matters.

Key responsibilities::
To develop and continuously review the firm's building, engineering and energy services requirements; to monitor changes in legislation and ensure that the company responds appropriately.
To develop specifications for outsourced M&E services and lead the P&F input to the procurement process.
To monitor the contractual performance of the supplier of M&E services, and to ensure that payments are made in accordance with the terms of the contract.
To liaise with the operational team to ensure that our Clients requirements and supplier issues are addressed satisfactorily.
To lead the development and implementation of energy saving initiatives, preparing business cases as required and contributing to the achievement of the firm's carbon reduction commitments.
To analyse, interpret and report on relevant management information in order to monitor costs and seek further savings.
To identify areas for further development of the contract and develop and manage projects to deliver these, ensuring ongoing effective supplier relationships.
To lead consideration of future benchmarking and /or re-specification and re-tendering exercises.
To lead the preparation and delivery of the firm's capital programme. project managing individual schemes in liaison with the Facilities Managers.

Skills and experience::
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent. You will have relevant technical qualification in a building or engineering discipline, and a proven record of successful management of £1 million+ outsourced contracts.

You will have a proven track record of project managing capital projects. You will be financially aware, and will have experience of identifying and delivering cost savings in energy projects. You will have experience of data analysis and identification of trends and opportunities for change.

Key competencies::
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to successfully influence at all levels within the business, using tact and diplomacy where necessary.
Strong numerical and critical reasoning skills are important.
You will be driven and resourceful, with a creative approach to problem solving.
You will be able to demonstrate a willingness to take ownership and work with a degree of autonomy
You will be effective in developing constructive relationships with suppliers.

As Business Development Manager (BDM) for the Company Commercial Practice Group (CCPG), your role will involve:

Assessing and developing opportunities to strengthen international and cross-practice and cross sector group cooperation for CCPG.

Encouraging full and effective use of the firm's CRM database

Working on integrated campaigns across CCPG to help raise our profile and awareness amongst our key target audience and generate opportunities to meet potential clients.
Planning and managing the implementation of marketing initiatives in support of the wider BD plan via client facing material production, internal meetings etc.
Working with the Operations team on the annual Directories process, by advising and coaching partners through the process.
Ensuring that there is a structured approach in place for maintaining up-to-date BD information and knowledge, such as credentials and capability statements.
Liaising with other BD managers and teams to ensure communication of best practice in areas such as new business, business generation, thought leadership and client care.
Managing and contributing to wider BD projects as required.
Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location and services.

Key relationships within this role will include:
The CCPG BD/Marketing team: you will be working with another BDM and reporting into the Senior Marketing Manager for CCPG.
Frequent contact with the senior partners within CCPG, as well as international partners throughout the firm's network.
Daily contact with partners/fee earners.
Frequent contact with other Marketing and Business Development teams including the Pitch, Key Account Management, Sectors, Operations, PR and Internal Communications teams.
Regular contact with Business Services areas and other parts of the business to ensure an integrated approach to the achievement of firm wide business objectives.

Skills and experience::
You will have extensive Business Development experience, and ideally within the professional services environment. The ideal candidate will also have degree-level education in business, English, marketing or another related area.
