Working on behalf of our client a leader in the Food Manufacturing Industry we are recruiting for a Shift Production Supervisor, reporting to the Manufacturing Manager.
You will manage a designated team, plant and materials in a culture of performance, review and action, open communication, employee involvement and continuous improvement in support of achieving the operating plan and manufacturing conversion costs
Responsibility and accountability.
1. Customer service- to take full responsibility for achievement of the production plan.
2. Plant Performance- To maximise performance via measurement, monitoring and analysis of plant information including wastage, output utilisation, labour efficiency, quality, hygiene energy and environmental impact and occupational health and safety -generating and implementing improvement plans.
3.Quality- To take full responsibility for the quality of product produced within the designated area through management of and compliance within quality systems.
4. Budgets- To take responsibility for decisions around budgetary control and conversion costs in designated areas.
5. Culture Development- To facilitate the development of an open culture of pro-activity where people take pride and responsibility in what they do.
6. People Management and development- to be responsible for all people management activities, including absence management, appraisals, discipline (short of dismissal) and grievances. To determine and ensure the achievement of the skills & training requirements.
7.Health and Safety - To contribute towards maintaining high health and safety standards and to carry out all duties and specific responsibilities in compliance with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
8.Innovation and Improvement- to promote continuous improvement and as part of the team proactively seek new & improved methods of working to increase efficiency in the overall production process.
9.Team Working - To work collaboratively with other Shift Managers in undertaking these responsibilities.
10.Problem Solving - to develop problem solving & trouble shooting skills to ensure that all team members can identify root causes & take fast & effective responses to problems.
