Your role:
Support the preparation of group statutory accounts and FSA, ABI and ONS return; prepare detailed project plans where requested through to sign off; monitor and control progress of specific projects against the agreed action plans and provide appropriate updates; manage project risks, issues and escalate as appropriate; represent Financial Reporting in cross-functional assignments, providing a key interface with other business units; identify process improvement and influence implementation and ownership of solutions; assist in the implementation of integrated systems within the department

Purpose of the role:
The main purpose of this role is to add value to the Financial Reporting Department by undertaking specific project activities, including interpretation of legislation; proactively work on the integration of accounting systems and processes in to the department; actively manage the improvement process recommending change where appropriate and driving through developments; provide support to the Financial Reporting team, including assistance with preparation of report and accounts.

You will:
Have previous experience of working in financial reporting; have a full qualification in a recognised professional accounting body; have a strong computer literacy, particularly Excel, Word and SAGE (or similar financial ledger system); experience of systems testing; knowledge of Access is preferable (but not essential); have experience in managing projects; have good organisational, communication and administrative skills; have working knowledge of the Financial Services industry and relevant regulatory issues; have proven experience of influencing and developing relationships at all levels of a business
