The role will also include supporting and implementing the GPI (Goodrich Product Introduction) process within GAS to ensure consistent best practice is implemented across the business for NPI and new technologies.

* The management and co-ordination of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering projects within GAS's worldwide facilities. Also management of GAS projects being run on our behalf by external research and development establishments.

An exciting opportunity for a Project Manager has arisen within the High Lift Value Stream in Actuation Systems. The role requires experienced, high achieving individuals reporting to the High Lift Programme Manager to take responsibility for leading a team of people to achieve business and customer deliverables associated with the System Development, Qualification, Demonstration and Initial Production phases of the project.

Principal Accountabilities:

The job holder will support the Programme Management team to achieve the business and customer deliverables associated with the project and be accountable for;

• Leading a multi-disciplined group of people to achieve contracted and targeted project objectives On Time and In Full (OTIF)
• Creating, maintaining and effectively communicating project plans and resource profiles
• Creating and managing project cash flows, budgets, forecasts and earned value analyses
• Identifying and implementing cost reduction and other financial enhancement initiatives
• Change management coordination & tracking to enable cost recovery from customer
• Supporting approval for, proposing and negotiating contract change amendments
• Supporting customer satisfaction surveys against agreed and structured success criteria
• Supporting Project Status Reviews to Customer and Goodrich Senior Management
• Negotiating and acquiring the necessary resources to achieve project deliverables
• Ensuring compliance to the Goodrich New Product Introduction (NPI) process and Customer Contract/Statement of work
• Ensure Key Project Indicators are tracked, maintained and reported on a regular basis
• Identifying and implementing continuous improvement ideas and methodology

Personal Characteristics:

The successful candidate will have a comprehensive range of skills or potential including:

• Good organisational and analytical ability including competence with general IT tools (ie MS Office)
• Knowledge of project management IT tools (MS Project) and earned value techniques would be an advantage

As part of Goodrich Actuation Systems (GAS) Strategy to become the "Fastest Improver" a new strategic initiative and team are being established to promote Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) within GAS. This role focuses on leading and facilitating the implementation of advanced manufacturing technology improvements throughout GAS.

The role will also include supporting and implementing the GPI (Goodrich Product Introduction) process within GAS to ensure consistent best practice is implemented across the business for NPI and new technologies.
Development and role out of standardised Manufacturing Engineering Processes and Procedures across the business to ensure consistency and standardisation.

Principal Accountabilities -

* Be a recognised expert resource for manufacturing and resolving technical issues.
* Assist and facilitate creating a proven robust manufacturing, processing or assembly process with the implementation of automation or advance technology solutions.
* Project manages and facilitates AME projects across GAS including coordination of external technical specialists in the implementation of these projects.
* Ensure that all customer requirements are established and adhered to as part of any AME projects
* Support the identification and justification of AME projects (Improvement/Waste Elimination/Cost Reduction) within GAS including Scope and Capital Expenditure justifications to ensure validity of projects.
* Responsibility to support the identification, ordering and commissioning of AM technologies and equipment
* Support the development and role out of a robust NPI processes for manufacturing areas (Assembly & Test/Machining/Processing) in line with the GPI and in support of the GAS Prototyping Strategy.
* Develop working practices that are appropriate to a Lean manufacturing environment including Lean events, Risk Assessments and PDPR's (Policy Deployment Progress Review's)
* Regular reporting on project status and outcomes
* Travel to GAS sites (including International) to support AME project management requirements and project implementation

Basic Qualifications: Personal Characteristics:

* Qualified to HNC or higher, with at least 5+ years manufacturing experience.
* Able to read Engineering drawings and CMM reports
* Experience of DFM/A/Automation and implementation of assembly cells
* Experienced in the implementation of automation and advanced technology solutions.
* Thorough understanding and experience of manufacturing/assembly processes
* Self-motivated in order to achieve World-Class results within limited time scales.
* Interpersonal skills developed to be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Ability to work within/across multiple teams.
* Flexibility and availability to travel to different sites as and when required
* Possesses the necessary enthusiasm, desire to succeed and discipline to achieve significant results for the organization.
* Some experience of the following:
- Machining/assembly/manufacturing processes related to New Product Introduction (NPI)
- HMSCAPP planning system / Autocad LT98 / Cadcam

- Exposure and knowledge of special processes
* IT literate - Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook & MS Project)
