check the work on completion. He/She will be required to prove by calculation that the designs are
fit for purpose; meeting the relevant Industry Codes and Client standards. He/She will be
required to write and/or check assembly, test and installation procedures etc.
Knowledge of materials, corrosion, NDE techniques, manufacturing processes and techniques is
required. This will assist when he/she is required to disposition non‐conformances; as will some
degree of practical hands on experience. Some appreciation of cost will also be necessary for the
design process as projects are quoted mainly on a fixed price basis.
Projects are executed to strict schedules. He/She will need to strive towards issuing deliverables to
the agreed plan.
Some direct liaison with the Client may also be required. In some cases, it will be necessary to
provide technical support to offshore operations that operate 24/7 all year round.
Reporting lines:
He/She will report via a Team Leader or Supervisor to an Engineering Manager.
