The Role of a Maintenance Engineer:
You will be working on alternate weekend shifts, the first weekend is days – Friday, Saturday, Sunday and the following weekend will be nights – Saturday, Sunday, Monday each on 12 hour shifts.
Key Skills:
You will be electrically biased and able to fault find on Mitsubishi PLC’s and be experienced with industrial electrical installations. You must also have some basic mechanical skills.

The Company:
My client is a leading supplier in the UK of all food processing requirements and suppliers to many of the best known and renowned food manufacturers throughout the company. They are constantly looking for experienced maintenance engineers (ideally multi skilled) that come from a food or FMCG background. They typically need people available at short notice to work on PPM’s, to provide production cover and shutdowns. Contracts can last from 1-2 days to 3-4 months. Digs can always be provided if it isn’t commutable.
The Role of a Maintenance Engineer:
You will ideally be available to work at various geographical locations at short notice and will come from either a food or similar FMCG background with transferable skills
Key Skills:
You must be able to fault find and carry out PPM (planned preventative maintenance) on machinery that you would expect to find in a food manufacturing factory. You will be used to working shifts.

The Role of a Maintenance Engineer:
Ideally from a food background, working on a shift pattern comprising days and nights and every other weekend you will be multi skilled, able to work on all of the machinery within the factory. This includes fault finding and ppm (planned preventative maintenance) on the processing equipment including: washers, lifters, conveyors, sealers, over wrappers, flow wrappers, shafts, bearings, belts, clippers
Key Skills:

The Role of a Maintenance Engineer:
• To maintain the plant so as to produce product at world class levels of performance, quality and cost
• To maintain the plant through breakdown repair and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives on site to help improve the OEE of the plants.
• Work in a manner that ensures a safe working area for yourself and your colleagues and is maintained to help reduce accidents to zero. To participate in the continuous improvement of SHE performance with the work area and at the site.
• Have a conscientious work ethic in respect of timekeeping and attendance and be able to work to agreed standards of productivity, quality and cost without supervision.
• Highlight own training needs and strive to become multi skilled in all areas of the sites various plant and machinery safely and flexibly as required.
• Achieve production targets whilst maintaining and improving quality of the products.
• Maximise cost efficiencies by minimising waste and improving quality.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors throughout the site’s manufacturing structure.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work area.
• Development of production and maintenance colleges in respect of fault identification, correction and avoidance by fostering TPM philosophies.
Key Skills:
The ideal candidate will have strong electrical skills with a satisfactory level of skill in the opposing bias and a desire to improve themselves technically. Ideally the applicant will be a time served apprentice and have good working knowledge fault finding on PLC automated equipment. They are involved in system design, specification, installation and ongoing support of fully automated distribution equipment. Due to restructuring in the business, 2010 is going to be an exciting time to join this market leader who is offering a fantastic opportunity for a controls engineer with Siemens PLC programming experience to join an already established team.
The Role of a Senior Controls Engineer:
You will be responsible for a number of bespoke projects, liaising with blue chip clients in the Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical and Retail distribution industries. Working closely with the project and sales team you will be involved from the post sales stage through to competition. The role will involve consulting with clients at the initial stage devising a specification that meets the customers requirements, understanding the performance of the equipment, then implementation of the equipment the successful candidate must be competent in programming Siemens PLC’s. The role will be a mixture of site and field based travelling across the country visiting client’s sites where you will install commission and programme the automated warehouse machinery. For the successful candidate this will be an opportunity to come in at a supervisory level where you will be in responsible for of a number of controls engineers as well as developing and mentoring apprentices.
Key Skills:
This is a high level role for a specialist PLC controls and automation engineer who is degree qualified in electrical engineering. You must have a number of years experience as a control’s and automation engineer where you have programmed Siemens PLC’s as well as having installation and commissioning experience. This role is very customer focused so experience with projects and dealing with large blue chip clients is essential as well as having the desire to move in to more senior positions.

The Role of a Senior Controls Engineer:
You will be responsible for a number of bespoke projects, liaising with blue chip clients in the Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical and Retail distribution industries. Working closely with the project and sales team you will be involved from the post sales stage through to competition. The role will involve consulting with clients at the initial stage devising a specification that meets the customers requirements, understanding the performance of the equipment, then implementation of the equipment the successful candidate must be competent in programming Siemens PLC’s. The role will be a mixture of site and field based travelling across the country visiting client’s sites where you will install commission and programme the automated warehouse machinery. For the successful candidate this will be an opportunity to come in at a supervisory level where you will be in responsible for of a number of controls engineers as well as developing and mentoring apprentices.
Key Skills:
This is a high level role for a specialist PLC controls and automation engineer who is degree qualified in electrical engineering. You must have a number of years experience as a control’s and automation engineer where you have programmed Siemens PLC’s as well as having installation and commissioning experience. This role is very customer focused so experience with projects and dealing with large blue chip clients is essential as well as having the desire to move in to more senior positions.
