The Franchise Design Director reports to and works closely with the Game Director to establish creative direction for the product and supervise the design team including both feature and level designers. They hold the creative vision for the game and are able to communicate it both from a high level concept and moment-to-moment. They are accountable for the game design and ensuring that it is innovative and of the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities:
· Takes an active role in planning the design, authoring and maintaining design documents, gathering reference and working with other leads on the team to establish priorities for development.
· Oversee creation of the design document, ensuring that all designs are clearly and consistently documented in accordance with the design templates for the project.
· Understands and directs the design of detailed systems that drive teh features throughout the game.
· Establishes design milestones and drives the design approval process to ensure that the design team meet their deliverables.
· Reviews and provides feedback on all creative development for the game.
· Mentors and provides career management for the design leads on the game team.
· Responsible for evangelising the creative vision for the product to all members of the game-team and and keeping people up-to-date with any changes that are made during the course of the project.
· Works with the Game Director to ensure that product vision and quality benchmarks are being met.

Skills / Qualifications:
· Minimum of five years professional experience working in a design capacity.
· Must have shipped at least 3 triple-A quality products working in a design capacity, at least on of which must be as a Lead Designer.
· Must have console experience.
· Strong passion for games and excellent knowledge of videogames.
· Excellent documentation skills.
· Strong decision-making skills.
· Proven organisational abilities.
· Demonstrates high standards of excellence.
