My client are a leading Software House within their field & are looking for a Technical Consultant to join their expanding team reporting to the Technical Services Manager. You'll have strong commercial experience with Networking, as well as being confident in front of end users & clients
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Become a product ‘expert’ for their range
Provide product Installation services on customer sites
Offer technical input on a project by project basis, including liaising and attend meetings
Provide telephone support to contracted customers as detailed by the Support Services Manager, and offer assistance on open calls as required
Give on site assistance as directed by the Technical Services Manager
Offer security advice and guidance in line with CESG policy
Produce written reports and other technical documents as detailed by the Technical Services Manager

Be able to provide structured product training
Identify and develop an area of in depth knowledge within the sphere of Wireless technologies

Specialised Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent knowledge of at least two and an understanding of the others from the following areas:
Network defence mechanisms, such as Firewalls (examples such as Cisco Pix, Checkpoint and Cyber guard), Intrusion detection devices and antivirus solutions
Routers, switches and other infrastructure elements (to a command line level – CCNA for Cisco is an example of a required level).
TCP and IP protocols
Detailed TCP/IP packet analysis skills through the use of products such as Ethereal
Windows networking environment experience, particularly W2K and Windows 2003, ideally experienced in DNS, WINS and DHCP
Microsoft Windows Client Operating Systems

They are looking for someone to maintain the company systems infrastructure to meet the required service levels of the business both internally & externally to protect the revenue streams of the company.
They are looking for someone with a mix of technical skills including, Domain, Active Directory & policy management as well as TCP/IP and X.25 Communications.
