Job Title: Design Coordinator
Reporting To: Reporting to the Regional Design Manager and / or the nominated Contract
Location: Bury St Edmunds/ E Anglia,
Job Summary: You will be responsible for the coordination of outline and detailed Design Deliverables on combined Process / Mechanical / Electrical schemes, predominately in the water industry and providing a overall design package to the Project Manager.
The main duties include the responsibility for the following:
1. ƒnWorking alongside the Design Manager and where applicable the Project Manager to ensure scheme designs are value engineered and adhere to client specifications.
2. To promote innovation and challenge parties involved to ensure cost effectiveness in all design activities.
3. ƒnTo closely coordinate design production between the clients in house design teams, external design companies, our suppliers and subcontractors and where applicable our clients designers.
4. ƒnTo ensure all design work is completed to agreed programmes and financial budgets.
5. ƒnTo provide outline and detailed engineering from inception to completion of schemes utilising our design partners, in-house resources, site installation and construction personnel.
6. ƒnLiaison with client¡¦s engineering staff or where applicable their design consultants to ensure designs are approved In accordance with the timescales stipulated within the contract.
7. ƒnAttend internal and external design reviews and where applicable progress meetings.
8. ƒnAscertain preliminary and detailed design / project requirements and solutions.
Skills & Qualifications Required:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
1. ƒnAn industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent
2. ƒnExperience of water and sewage treatment processes (preferred)
3. ƒnCommercial and contractual awareness (preferred)
4. ƒnWorking knowledge of Microsoft packages
5. ƒnExperienced with AutoCAD software.
