In this temporary position you will be responsible for the management of the Economic Policy function the section includes 6 officers ranging in grades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead role in supporting the economic rationale for appropriate project spend and intervention through Doncaster’s project development and approval processes, with a specific focus on the evidence to support market / equity failure and the cost-benefit analysis of project options.
• Provide advice to the senior managers, corporate leadership team, cabinet and partners on the economic rationale / arguments associated with large-scale project investments.
• Work with project managers taking skills, employment and labour market focused projects through the project development and approval process to support the economic evidence base required for project design – with particular focus on the evidence required to identify and support market and equity failure arguments and cost-benefit analysis.
• Develop and set appropriate monitoring and review measurements/mechanisms as required
• Develop Doncaster’s economic strategy and its associated evidence base (and appropriate linkages into other plans and strategies such as the Local Development Framework); ensure that this is widely consulted across the Council and partners; and feeds into the Local Strategic Partnership and the iRS.
• Take the lead role in developing, implementing and communicating an economic skills and labour market research programme to deliver both strategic skills targets and priorities, and associated monitoring and reporting in line with the Regional Skills Strategy and the Integrated Regional Strategy (iRS).
• Develop and maintain progressive working relationships with key local, regional and national stakeholders to create a greater connection with existing research and intelligence activity.
• Work closely with Yorkshire Forward ensure Doncaster takes account of utilises the Regional Econometric Model (REM) and Integrated Forecasting Framework capacity an econometric skills modelling.
• Ensure that the skills and knowledge brought into the Council are effectively transferred to existing staff through the development of a appropriate coaching and training programme
You'll have a proven or demonstrable track record of both quantitative and qualitative techniques in modelling and researching the links between economic growth (or change) the supply and demand of labour across industrial and occupational sectors
You will also need a strong spatial appreciation of local labour markets and skills economy and the hierarchy of local, regional and national labour markets.
Demonstrated substantial knowledge of working with the Office of National Statistics’ full range of secondary and regional economic intelligence products relating to skills and the labour market.
Proven ability to lead and commission primary and secondary socio-economic research projects.

Conversant with residential/commercial structures and private works design including
detailing of concrete/steel/masonry as well as producing ga's.
You will be utilising CAD, AD CADS 3D Max as well as structural analysis programmes
Must have a solid track record in designing residential and/or commercial structures
Sound technical knowledge of design in all of the major construction materials - concrete, steel, timber and masonry.

This Civil Engineering team are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Infrastructure Design Engineer with a proven track record in drainage design. The successful candidate will be a Chartered Engineer or approaching chartered status with a relevant design background, including successfully delivery of drainage designs through planning process, detailed design and completion of construction.
Civil Engineer Team Background;
The Civil Engineering team work on a diverse range of projects including:
Infrastructure design for a variety of schemes ranging from school developments to the Olympic Park, typically services includes; drainage, highways, civil structures, below ground services, geotechnical works and land remediation

Marine design
Specialist blast and structure design
Heavy Civil engineering design for industrial facilities and power stations
CDM services
In addition they provide management and technical support to the Engineering and Major project division responsible for £multi-million design projects such as Crossrail and the nuclear new build programme.
Responsibilities;
Design team leader for Development Infrastructure designs
Technical responsibility for designs
Management and development of graduate engineers and technicians
Co-ordination and management of other discipline inputs into projects
Knowledge and proven track record of all stages of the project cycle
Degree or equivalent qualified Civil Engineer
Chartered Engineer or approaching chartered status
Extensive post graduate background
Proven track record in design delivery
Surface water and Foul drainage design including SUDS
Paving design background
