We are looking for two CIPS Qualified Buyers with proven buying experience within an electro-mechanical environment to undertake contracts developing and implementing strategies for commodities and suppliers for an electronic manufacturing company
Alternatively, the Buyers (Electro-Mechanical) could have extensive buying experience within an electro-mechanical environment and another appropriate qualification i.e. HNC or degree with some formal procurement training
Experience of purchasing electro-mechanical goods and working within a sub-contract environment is, however, essential as is in-depth knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
Candidates for the position of Buyers (Electro-Mechanical) should have the ability to assess a supplier's capability and develop good working relationship with them together with strong negotiation skills and an understanding of the commodity marketplace
You should also be able to understand the balance required within business for inventory and cash management without impacting Sales output.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Buyers (Electro-Mechanical) will be expected to develop and implement strategies for commodities and suppliers to achieve realistic long term relationships
.
Day to day duties will include:
1. Negotiating Long Term Agreements
2. Managing suppliers to achieve improvements in Cost, Quality and Delivery
3. Developing and maintaining Programme Life Cycle Management Plans for all products.
4. Participating in Inventory reduction activities
5. Selecting and Managing Suppliers
6. Managing Product costs throughout the Product lifecycle.

8. Risk Management of Key Suppliers

Material Engineer - NSQAC - knowledge of PPS, IFS, IPCS and ISIS - MS Project, Word and Excel - knowledge of material management /control desirable - based Plymouth - salary c£26 - 33K
We are looking for a Material Engineer who has ONC (or equivalent) and has achieved NSQAC or who is prepared to attend the course.
Candidates for the position of Material Engineer (NSQAC) must have a good working technical knowledge of the range of equipment and repair overhaul options, material procedures and quality standards and knowledge of PPS, IFS, IPCS and ISIS
Proficiency at using MS Project, Word and Excel is essential and knowledge of material management /control desirable as is inventory optimisation and Quality Control
Estimating knowledge would be an advantage but not desirable
The role of Material Engineer (NSQAC) will be to ensure that Goods and Services are managed throughout the supply chain taking note of cost, quality and delivery.
The main purpose of the role will be to form a part of a Supply Chain team to oversee and coordinate the demand and supply of materials to a diverse range of projects within the Naval Bases business.
You would also be required to ensure that demands are met to the right quality, specification, price and time to meet the program schedule.
To undertake the above, candidates for the position of Material Engineer (NSQAC) must have good organisational skills and problem solving ability; be good team players and be customer focussed
Successful applicants will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements.
