This role is office based, visiting sites anywhere within 2 hours travelling time from the office.

A highly experienced, hands-on Electrical Engineer with knowledge and experience of underwater cable and array systems, power distribution systems and familiarity with distributed electrical control systems is required for our client based in Devon.

As Electrical Engineer (High Voltage) you will provide assistance to the principal electrical engineer in developing product concepts on under-water cable terminations and high voltage related projects. You will assist in delivery by use of practical skills as part of the high voltage team, with the necessary jointing skills to assist in building designs. It will be necessary to spend time at clients' off-shore installations

As electrical engineer you will take responsibility of purchasing and manufacturing designs, from concept schematics, performance proving, qualification testing and assistance in the industrialisation of the design. This will include working effectively within the team and satisfying the needs of business groups, potential clients and internal functions.

You must have a detailed knowledge of High Voltage cable and components as used in jointing, including testing and verification as applicable to high voltage cable terminations, connectors and encapsulated products. Experience of subsea high-pressure environments is definitely desirable. You should demonstrate familiarity with standards that apply to cable related equipment and terminations, together with knowledge of relevant regulations and codes of practice.

Ideally you will be qualified to HNC / degree level or equivalent with significant practical experience in a relevant industry. You must be physically fit and will undertake off-shore medical and survival course.

Experienced estimator required to provide cost estimates in support of manufacturing and engineering contracts relating to electro-mechanical, electronic and specialist equipment for the defence and energy markets.
You will have experience of liaising with sub-contractors and suppliers, sending out RFQ's, receiving costs back, providing manpower estimates for manufacture, assembly and test activities to compile project estimates.

Key duties to include;
*Review drawings, bills of material and technical specifications to determine material, tooling and component requirements for manufacturing contracts.
*Identify potential suppliers and send out RFQ's. Deal with queries and maintain accurate records of prices and progress.
*Expedite RFQ returns and ensure best value achieved.
*Compile job estimates based on input from suppliers, sub-contractors and internal engineering and production staff.
*Liaise with internal engineering design team, production staff and business development team to compile estimates effectively.

Ideally you will have an estimating or engineering background, with minimum qualifications of NVQ3, ONC or equivalent. Candidate must be able to interpret and understand engineering and assembly drawings.
Experience of contemporary production workshop practices and engineering manufacture would be advantageous.
