• AIIT qualified preferred
• Competent in Word and Excel with the ability to prepare spreadsheets and write clear concise client letters

The Firm:
My client is company specialising in both Taxation Advisory Services and Wealth Management. They have an exciting opportunity for a newly/recent qualified Chartered Tax Advisor to join the team in Sevenoaks. Their clients include large and small companies, partnerships, trusts and individuals from £150K - £2 mil turn over.

The Role:
As a CTA you will join their dynamic growing legal department and take on the complete running of a new taxation department and potentially make it grow into something big.
You will be able to explain complicated tax legislation/rulings, and its implications for the company, in simple terms to the senior members of the company. Equally, it will be your responsibility to keep the company abreast of all legal taxation matters that could have an impact of the running of this very successful tax practice.
Responsibilities:
• Researching, analysing and interpreting of changing tax legislation in relation to their services;
• HMRC enquiry work / Tax Tribunals;
• Drafting of relevant documentation for correct implementation of their products;
• Creation of new Occupational Pension Schemes / pension transfer-in’s;
• Establishing and structuring family trusts, both on-shore and off-shore;
• Dealing with Trademarks, Licences and Royalty payments;
• Ability to establish new companies, both LLPs and Ltd’s, via Companies House;
• Issuing of preference shares for a Ltd company;
• Conversion of LLP into LTD, or vice versa, via corporate re-structuring;
• Overseeing implementation of subsidiary company in the Channel Islands;
• Examine and evaluate new tax structures presented to company via Barristers / QC’s;
• Instructing Counsel on differing topics;
• Execute any litigation work company may need to address;
• Review and amend all of company’s existing externally sent documentation (such as non-disclosure agreements, introducer agreements, letters of engagement.)
• Review and amend our internal documentation (such as employment contracts)
• Verification that company complies to FSA/HMRC regulations
The Candidate:
It is essential that you are a solid team player who thrives on working within a fast paced dynamic company. They are ideally seeking a candidate who is CTA trained/qualified.

You must also have:
• Understanding the requirements of DOTAS;

This is a Tax Manager position that may lead to a Partner Designate opportunity in the future. You will be responsible for corporate tax assignments for OMB clients particularly within the technology sector and will be responsible for an increasing client portfolio. In addition to reviewing the work of other staff and liaising directly with clients, you will be liaising regularly with the owner (ex Big 4) who you will learn a great deal from.

My client is very happy to consider those who have predominantly tax compliance based experience to-date and who would like to further develop their advisory experience.

Responsibilities will be tailored somewhat to your experience and you need not have experience in all of the areas detailed below. However, as the role progresses in the first twelve months, you are likely to have exposure to some or all of the following:

Corporate tax advice including reorganisations and reconstructions
Complex tax provisions and tax computations
Advice on R&D Tax Credits
EIS relief
EMI share schemes
Transfer pricing considerations
Planning for Intellectual Property
Personal tax planning and compliance
International tax planning including personal and corporate

If you come with all of the above experience then before long they will be able to recruit someone to further assist with the more routine work. If you are looking to move from compliance led work to date, then you will increase your knowledge for the next year and then have the opportunity to hire another person to assist you as you move away from the compliance side and expand your advisory knowledge.

The Candidate:

Qualified ACA, ACCA and preferably CTA.
You will currently be specialising in a corporate tax role or be an experienced accountant who is keen to expand upon your technical corporate tax knowledge.
Your experience should ideally include research of and providing solutions relating to EMI option schemes and EIS.
Ideally you will be able to advise clients regarding capital gains tax and entrepreneurs relief.
Keen to use your own initiative, able to gain the trust of the employer with a view to becoming a Partner or sole proprietor in future years.
