The Architecture group is responsible for setting the technical direction within the IT department. That includes: ·Product and methodology reviews ·Building prototypes and proofs of concept ·Setting the overall architecture and high level design for new developments ·Working closely with the other development groups to ensure that their developments follow the overall plan ·Taking responsibility for the data models within the company My client are looking for someone to join the technical area within the Java Architecture team. Although potentially involved in all areas of the teams responsibilities they will focus on the code related aspects: investigations, building prototypes and working with the development teams. My client uses a mix of technologies including Cobol, Java and .Net, this role will be focussed on the Java developments. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: - Java Development - System architecture and design - J2EE - Web Services - Object-oriented design - Java Beans - JSF development - XML - SQL - JBOSS Useful additional skills: SOA, ESB, BPEL; Alfresco; Hibernate; Spring; XSL/XSLT/XSD; Eclipse; Subversion; Maven; Database design; Experience in the finance sector; .NET; Cobol; Experience of cross platform integration. To be considered you must hold Degree level education or equivalent, have excellent and effective communicator both verbal and written; a proven track record in complex projects fully utilising object oriented design and construction techniques including full integration with relational databases; be a good team worker and be able to work to tight deadlines.
