Job Title: Production Supervisor
Company:
A progressive and leading engineering company serving both the rolling stock and aerospace manufacturers throughout the world. They have a formidable record for extensive manufacturing experience covering the production of precision machined components, sheet metal fabrications and avionics assemblies for incorporation into all types of aircraft including commercial airliners, military jets and helicopters.
Purpose:
To control all production activities within the area of responsibility. To constantly seek to improve business performance in all areas of responsibility.
Responsibility:
1. Uphold and act upon the company policies and standards across the whole company, not just in their area of responsibility.
2. Allocate resources on a daily basis to ensure attainment of production requirements.
3. Ensure that all relevant quality procedures are adhered to e.g. in respect of job cards, material traceability, reporting non-conformances, customer specs etc.
4. Controlling stock in the working area minimising scrap and WIP stock to minimal levels.
5. Measure and act upon output and quality data fort heir responsible area and cell. Update progress boards and systems data as required.
6. Interface with services areas (i.e. Engineering, Purchasing etc.) as required in order to affect a smooth production flow.
7. Drive continuous improvement with a view to ensuring achievement of set targets and objectives. Project managing improvements in their responsible area.
8. Maintain housekeeping standards within their responsible area.
9. Ensure that all employees in their responsible area are correctly adhering to time and attendance recording procedures.
10. Manage people in a style consistent with company policies and procedures i.e. timekeeping, absence, and holiday control and first line management of disciplinary requirements.
11. Developing a cohesive team excelling in high customer service performance levels.
12. Assist in the selection and training of new and transferred employees including induction training.
13. Communication to all levels on matters of general issues and of concerns, raised by both employees and management, maintaining regular team meetings.
14. Uphold the companys reputation as a helpful and responsive organisation.
15. To comply with Quality work instruction.
16. Work in a safe manner in order to satisfy Health and Safety legislation and to avoid accident or injury to people, machinery or property.
17. Carrying out such other duties as may reasonably be required within the jobholders capabilities consistent with the Terms and Conditions of employment.
Qualification, skills, attributes, experience required:
Substantial experience and knowledge of engineering production methods is essential.
Practical experience at an appropriate level of the discipline of the area that the Supervisor is to manage.
Basis experience of man-management and the ability to motivate and lead a team.
Relevant experience in an industrial environment.

Job Title - Business Development Manager - (Sales)
Location - Will work from any location suitable for the requirements of the role.
Mobility throughout UK with requirement for some overseas travel.

In October 1998 they became a wholly owned subsidiary and have attained a formidable record for extensive manufacturing experience covering the production of precision machined components, sheet metal fabrications and avionics assemblies for incorporation into all types of aircraft including commercial airliners, military jets, helicopters and satellites as well as the manufacture of components for rolling stock interior systems.
Purpose
The Sales Development Manager is required to develop and win External Sales from customers identified in the sales and marketing plan; assimilate market intelligence and information concerning prospective customers and competitors for use in managing the business sales and commercial strategies and participate and contribute to the development and ongoing management of the business sales and marketing plan.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Call on existing and prospective customers and maintain good relationships with key individuals to develop new business opportunities and attain a high reputation for integrity.
2. Ascertain key requirements of particular prospective work packages and determine opportunities for negotiation. Recommend the structure and content of quotations/proposals and work with the Internal sales team and Marketing & Contracts Manager to prepare appropriate bids and then negotiate the business proposal to sale closure.
3. Introduce nominated business/project managers to customers and new contracts and support the production team with customer liaison through the launch of new projects.
4. In conjunction with the Internal Sales team, manage and control the process of sales enquiry conversion to contract award. This will involve a) ensuring the scope of work is clearly defined through regular and effective communication with the customer, and b) managing enquiry briefs and action plans.
5. Complete sales visit reports for all sales activity and submit these regularly to the Sales Administrator.
6. Ensure that the Head of Sales is kept fully appraised of prospective work packages sufficient to enable the Company to undertake proper capacity planning.
7. Liaise with the Credit Controller in connection with disputed debts out of contract and/or those in which technical problems are involved and negotiate settlement with the customer accordingly.
8. Promote the interests and image of the Company at all times.
9. Entertain and manage customers whilst on site and ensure that their activities are controlled within company procedures.
10. Manage the activities of the external sales team/ site representatives and ensure individual Ware-house monthly targets are achieved in line with goals set by Managing Director.
