This role will offer an exciting opportunity to get involved with a number of activities integral to the success of the Claims Team in the Life Time Care Division. You will;

• To be fully conversant and experienced in assessing health insurance claims in accordance with the plan conditions following the laid down claim assessment procedure in order to ensure all decisions are accurate and appropriate and within personal claims authority benefit levels.
• Use technical expertise to identify and act on opportunities in order to improve claims efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of the legal and regulatory standards and statements of best practice (i.e. ABI guide to Claims (FATs) and FSA COB8a , and FSA/ ABI non disclosure guidelines ) to ensure that these are complied with at all times.
• Deliver an excellent service by providing on going training and coaching to the Assessors.

We are looking for candidate with the following skills;

• To have a proven claims assessing experience in all health claim products and hold a minimum individual authority level of £18,000 pa (for IP Products) and £200,000 (for Critical Illness, TPD, WOP etc)
• To provide training and coaching to claims assessors across the whole of the health claim products
• To hold the company authority level for signing off claims and declines.
• To carry out monthly quality audits
• To provide monthly MI
• To provide technical support to the Team Manager as required.

Working with the Web Delivery team, this role has responsibility for all build and support issues relating to the desktops and laptops of the web delivery team. The majority of the support will be centred around Ubuntu desktops, Apple and Windows laptops and desktops. The ratio of Windows to *NIX is about 50/50.

Ensure adherence to agreed standards and best practice and effective and efficient ticket handling, including accurate, complete, and informative updating in relation to Corporate LAN connected PC’s and Laptops

Key Accountabilities
•Provide high quality Desktop support (up to 3rd line support) for local and remote users of the Web Delivery Team.
•Create and maintain a standard build for each of the different desktop configurations required (Windows, Centos (vm), Ubuntu, Apple OS X)
•Create and maintain configurations for the default virtual development environment to be supplied with each development machine
•Instigate an asset register/configuration management system to secure control over installs, moves, adds or changes (IMAC’s) to desktop hardware
•Liaise with the Technical Services team for any issues or IMAC’s relating to Corporate LAN connected PC’s or Laptops
•Perform Hardware and software maintenance and upgrades.
•Configure and maintain backups for all Linux, Mac and Windows machines
•Maintain Builds for host and Developer VM machines (Ubuntu host, 64 bit Centos 5 VM)
•Maintain accurate and complete documentation within the project version control system (subversion)
•Maintain accurate and complete asset register information (hardware & software)
•Adhere to Change Control processes and procedures
•Share configuration management information Technical Services (NSTS) as required
•Adhere to all agreed quality processes and procedures
•Carryout DBH Laptop/Desktop induction sessions
•Specifically for Corporate LAN connected PC’s and Laptops
oAdhere to the in house service delivery model

PERSON SPECIFICATION
•In depth technical knowledge of;-
•Apple Mac desktop and laptop operating systems (Mac OSX Leopard and SnowLeopard), and applications
•Linux (Ubuntu) for desktops
•MS desktop operating systems (XP, Vista), and applications
•Using open source virtualisation technologies to provide virtual development environments (pref. with Centos guests)
•Good knowledge of:
•Linux system automation (preferably Cobbler and Puppet)
•Windows system imaging technologies
•Networking, WAN and LAN configurations and best practice conventions
