We are currently working with a very successful precision engineering organisation that has been experiencing a significant growth in business over the last 18 months.
Specialising in both low volume prototype work and high volume parts they work across a range of industries from Rail, Automotive and Aerospace to Defence, F1 and pharmaceutical to name but a few.
Due to this huge, sustained increase in business they are seeking to appoint a Works Manager to join their manufacturing facilities in Dudley.
Responsibilities will include overseeing a small growing team of nine machinists comprising of CNC Sliding Head and Lathes, dealing with all typical production issues that may arise. These will include tooling problems, fixture issues, quality concerns and raw material availability in addition to supervising and dealing with any personnel problems. You will ensure the quality of parts being produced by using typical hand measurement tools and their coordinate measurement machine (training can be provided for this). If the shift is running well and there are no further pressing issues you will be expected to join in with programming the machinery and manufacturing parts.
To be considered for the role you will either be an experienced Manager/ Supervisor/Shift Leader with a number of years spent within a precision machining environment or will be a very experienced CNC Machinist on Citizen or Star Sliding Heads looking to take on more responsibility and take the first step into management.

Do to reorganisation they are seeking to appoint a new Project Coordinator/Engineer to join their busy team in Birmingham.
Overall your responsibility will be to coordinate and manage a variety of projects from enquiry to quotation and then after winning the business, through to production sign off and project completion.
You will define project scope, goals and milestones, will develop project plans and associated communications documents and will communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders.
To be considered for the role you will ideally have experience of working within an organisation that manufactures pressings and will have been exposed to the commercial aspects of the business. You will more than likely be handling business enquiries already and will have experience in pulling together costs from a variety of areas including materials, tooling plans and costs, production cycle times and run rates and collating these to produce a competitive quotation. On winning the business you will coordinate all aspects of the project, clearly communicating customer requirements and project plans to the rest of the team and will monitor and progress all individual aspects to ensure timely project completion.
From time to time there will be a requirement to attend customer meetings, sometimes alone or sometimes accompanied by another member of the team, to establish requirements, discuss concerns and at the same time developing and growing business relationships for the future.
