Assystem in the UK are currently working very closely with a Niche Vehicle Manufacturer who is expanding, our client requires a FE Analysis Engineer - Crash to join their team. The position is permanent and based in the South of England.
Vacancy Description Purpose of the Role: The engineer will be responsible for maintaining, analysing and reporting on vehicle, system and component FE models.
Role Dimensions: The engineer will report directly to the analysis manager and liaise with various function groups and attribute managers. The candidate will be required to communicate progress and critical issues to the Project Engineers and the Chief Designer
Principal Accountabilities: The engineer will be responsible for maintaining, analysing and reporting on the vehicle, system and component models. Models will be used to study performance against targets relating to Crash/Safety, Durability and NVH.
Engineer will work with project engineers to assess risk on new projects and develop plans to manage this risk thought virtual and physical test activities.
Understanding of the model performance and analysis of test data and basic engineering principles, will allow the engineer to develop robust models to assist the design and development activities of the vehicle program.
The engineer should determine the most efficient engineering techniques, to deliver maximum value to program through an optimised modelling approach. Alongside supporting vehicle programs, the engineer should draw on team experience of best practice and help develop methods to improve group capabilities.
Experience of metallic and composite materials is required as the vehicle structure uses both. Knowledge of various vehicle systems is desirable.
Predictive analysis should be complete prior to all physical testing.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience: The engineer should have extensive experience developing and analysing full vehicle, component and system level models

Assystem are currently working on behalf of an international racing team to recruit and experienced CNC Machine, tool programmer, Setter, Operator to join their expanding team. The purpose of the role is to program, set and operate multi-axis computer numerically controlled machine centres and tools to make race car components from supplied drawings. You will be able to liaise with the production management and maintain shift handovers with other shift employees within the machine shop.
The suitable candidate must be able to demonstrate their excellent knowledge of programming, turning - milling and live tooling of Mazak / Mazatrol machines and have a proven track record with machining precision components. Ideally you will have come from a motorsport environment or similar. In addition you will have knowledge of ISO and conversational Computer Numerical Controlled machinery.
The working hours are: Fri - Sat: 06:00 - 19:00 Sun: 06:00 - 20:00
In addition to these hours, overtime is readily available and encouraged. This is a Permanent position looking to start the suitable CNC Machinist as soon as possible.
