Job Description

Duties will include:
*pre-delivery inspection, installation, commissioning record keeping and operation training of the company's equipment

*customer care, including repair and Preventive Maintenance on existing equipment

*preparing and improving the Pre-Delivery Inspection, Installation, Commissioning and Customer Acceptance procedures.

*You will also be required to take on additional key duties to allow our client to achieve and maintain impeccable customer care. These include:

RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibilities are as follows:

Job Profile
As part of a Project Engineering department reporting to the Project Engineering Director this is a senior position to manage the technical aspects of delivering new assembly processes and equipment into the business. On an individual project this position will support the Program Manager by supporting the project engineers in the design and launch of proposed equipment.

The Assembly Project Manager will take concept assembly processes from manufacturing engineering and will develop these, get them approved with the plants as production routes and then will work with purchasing to provide an RFQ for suppliers. Once the supplier is nominated the assembly project manager and engineers will manage the process of design buy off, manufacture, installation and launch. The Assembly leader will be the senior assembly engineer and will be the main focus for technical information within the project, the customer and the plants.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
*Confirm feasibility of manufacturing engineering solutions for new assembly equipment and processes.
*Support the creation of RFQ documents for suppliers to quote equipment and processes against, based on an expected OEE, cycle time, quality expectation, etc
*Lead all project engineering requirements / activities in the design, manufacture and buy off of assembly equipment at the supplier. This will include process development, specification, simulation (Robcad and ergonomics), design buy-off, progress tracking, assessment of modifications and final buy-off at the supplier.
*Track project timing plans with all suppliers.
*Liaise with home line plants to plan facility requirements, commissioning time slots and support with the commissioning and launch activities. Taking the lead in issue resolution to ensure a running process to target manning, cycle times, quality levels and OEE

Characteristics and Requirements

*Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering.

*Considerable welding, joining and assembly experience (mig, spot, adhesives, curing, joining, riveting etc) including process approval, design approval, supplier management, tracking and tool buy-off.
*Considerable experience of the design of fixtures for holding panels for joining methods

The Role
As part of a Project Engineering department reporting to the Project Engineering Director this is a senior, functional position within the engineering department to manage the technical aspects of delivering new press tooling processes and equipment in to the business. The role will be to be the 'go to' person for all press tooling project issues on all projects being delivered by the Engineering department in to the plants.
On an individual project this position will support the Program and Project Managers in the recruitment, induction and support of the project tooling engineers with their duties to deliver new processes. This role will be instrumental in how tooling projects are delivered by writing the procedures and developing all the required documentation for the delivery of new or transferred tools.
The Tooling Program Manager will assess tooling risk at the start of new projects and assign work streams to ensure that these risks are mitigated during the delivery process. Where processes are low risk the project responsibility after design sign off will transfer to the project manager of the programme, where the risks are high these will continue to be monitored, tracked and supported through to a successful launch.
The Tooling Program Manager will be responsible for the development of the tooling delivery process from project hand over to launch, ensuring at all times that we meet with customer requirements and TS16949. There will be particular emphasis on liaison with plants, customers, tooling and equipment suppliers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Company
Our client have more than 25 years experience in the manufacture of aluminium stampings, making them one of the largest Tier 1 users of automotive grade aluminium in Europe.

The Role
Reporting to the Project Manager this position is to manage the supply, logistics and packaging aspects of new projects. This could be dedicated to a single project or be required to support a number of smaller projects depending on the size and complexity of the projects being delivered

The Project Logistics Engineer will be a customer and supplier facing role, working with the customer for the approval and sign off of delivered product packaging and supply routes. At the same time producing the WIP packaging requirements for internal parts and the logistics routings for parts between plants and to the customer

During early build phases there will also be requirement to work with purchasing to ensure material movements are completed on time to the tooling suppliers and that build parts are packaged and delivered in line with pre-production build schedules.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

*Support the customer development of delivered packaging - EU1121
*Develop WIP packaging concepts for RFQ
*Work with WIP packaging suppliers through prototypes to finished production pallets
*Ensure pallets are available for all build phases
*Ensure Materials are shipped to suppliers on time
*Ensure Materials and parts are shipped back to support Build phases in line with Company / Customer timing
*Support the plants with Logistics information for loading in to MFG Pro - such as pallet sizes, numbers, supply loops, material process flow, etc

Characteristics and Requirements

*Qualified to HNC level or equivalent to show a level of academic capability.
*Experience of working in the Auto industry or similar where metal products are stored in racks and transported
*Experience of press work process engineering environment would be useful to understand the environment and to understand the auto industry from a supply logistics view.
*Understanding of customer product quality expectations, handling damage, lifting regulations.
*Understanding of how pallets are treated in factories to make provision for this during their design and development
*A basic understanding of ferrous materials & engineering processes is required to know where the product will be produced and delivered to.
*Health and safety and manual handling regulations need to be understood for the design and sign off process.
*Knowledge and experience of project management tools for planning and budget control.
*Knowledge of APQP, SPC, FMEA, PPAP and control plans would be useful to understand how we report status and deliver the projects to plant and customers.
*Ideally experienced in Customer CAD systems or able to produce sketches / drawings for suppliers to quote pallets and special packaging
*Good at writing technical RFQ's identifying the requirements that the suppliers can translate in to quotes.
*Support the quote and order processing with purchase to nominate a manufacturing partner for all pallets
*Knowledge of MRP systems and material flow logistics planning, ideally in MFG Pro but other similar packages would be ok. This is to support the plant logistics analysts in setting up the supply chain movements for production between plants and customer.

*Experience of working in a TS16949 environment preferable.
*Flexible with working location as periods of time will be spent at supplier and customer sites
*Driving Licence is essential.
*Familiar with various PC based software.
*Capable of working alone or within a team, be customer and supplier facing and be able to give reports back to the project team on status and issues as required.

On an individual project this position will be reporting to a project engineering manager assigned, who in term will report to the program manager responsible for the overall program delivery.

The Project Engineer (Quality) will work for one or more project managers on new or resourced business projects from the RFQ stage, through order placement, supplier management; buy off, home line commissioning, final buy off and acceptance.

The Project Engineer (Quality) will be involved in all advanced quality activities in line with customer requirements and ISO standards. There will be particular emphasis on liaison with customers and assembly equipment suppliers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
*Develop gauge instruction sheets for each panel to be supplied (press and assembly)
*Create RFQ documents for suppliers to quote
*Lead all engineering requirements / activities in the design, manufacture and buy off of checking fixtures and gauges with the suppliers.
*Track project timing plans with all suppliers
*Liaise with home line plants to plan facility requirements, CMM capabilities for confirmation and part programming and support commissioning and launch activities.
*Complete production data packs with control plans, FMEA and works instructions for the new products.
*Report APQP status for the project and liaise with the project teams for elements that are outside of the quality engineers control.
*Support Plant quality to ensure capability of product is produced and that dimensional and surface quality is achieved for Phase 1 PSW.
*Support with the production of the PSW phase warrant and ensure that any non-conformance is identified to the customer and extended tolerances agreed with product engineering.
*Customer and Supplier liaison on all quality issues.

Characteristics and Requirements
*Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering
*Experienced in a Body in White engineering environment.
*Considerable plant or project quality experience
*Experience of panel checking fixtures, CMM capabilities, gauges used in BIW measurement

* To keep abreast of advances on Technology development in tooling / moulding to ensure Functional Excellence is maintained.

* To oversee the timely invoicing of all Phase 4 tooling.

* Any other duties as required by the NPI Tooling & Moulding Technical Manager or the New Product Introduction Manager.
