Job Requirement

A person to work in a small busy department threading up metallic wire drawing dies to examine, profile and polish according to specifications.

The ideal candidate will be manually dexterous having worked in the textiles, rag trade or similar industries. Experience of working with fine metallic or plastic components in the electronics or light engineering industry would also be suitable.

Patience and attention to detail are two characteristics that the individual will need to posses in abundance.

Working as part of a small team and the need to liaise with people from other area means the candidate should have good interpersonal skills.

The demand for dies from the departments being served varies. At times the employee will be working to tight deadlines to meet production targets.

The dies are an expensive consumable item so producing good quality refurbished dies is essential. Additionally the dies are used to produce very expensive precious metal wire products so dies have to conform to exacting standards

Qualifications:
5 GCSE’s or equivalent. Candidates will require a good standard of English so that they can interpret health and safety policies, risk assessments associated with the department’s activities and simple die sizing charts.


Die Threader and Profiler – Principal Accountabilities

1. Cleaning, examination and evaluation of used wire drawing metallic dies using microscopes.
2. Threading of a die with wire to reprofile the die geometry.
3. Threading of a die to polish die contact areas.
4. Filling and emptying of a die dispensing machine.
5. Replenishing of die stocks as and when required.
6. Lia sing with other departmental employees on die requirements.


Person Specification- Die Threader and Profiler

Mental Abilities:
Able to carry out meticulous activities with one’s hands for longish periods of time. Ability to concentrate and maintain focus makes the tasks more efficient.

Physical Attributes:
Good eyesight, manual dexterity with both hands and hand eye co-ordination is essential. Work requires quite precise manual manipulative tasks.
The work is of a sedentary nature. Most of the tasks are performed seated at a die-polishing bench.
Nickel containing wires are used in the process so unsuitable for persons with nickel sensitivity



Skill with people:
Interpersonal skills important. Able to work as part of a team, providing back up for others in the department as and when required.

Communication:
Needs to be a good communicator and able to speak clearly.

Personal Confidence :
Not Applicable

Motivation/Drive:
Has to be self-motivated and enthusiastic about carrying out meticulous tasks with ones hand over a longish period of time.

Circumstances:
Needs to be flexible and able to work extra hours as when required. The department does not operate a shift pattern currently but there may be a need to work a double day shift in the future.

Adjustment:
Needs to be able to deal with change as a result of job rotation (within department) and continuous improvement.

For day work – Mon to Thurs- 7:45 am to 16:30. Fri 7 00 am to 12:00 PM.

Electro / Mechanical Technician:
• Conduct any modifications to parts, assemblies or finished products – including customer returns.
• Conduct any repairs to parts, assemblies or finished products – including customer returns.
• Assist in the introduction of new products and processes.
• Ensure all non-conformances, quality and assembly issues are informed to senior management in a timely manner.

They are looking for an electrical systems engineer to join our client’s business working from within their electrical machines division at our location close to Heathrow.

Reporting to the technical director your main job role will be the design and development of power electronics and control equipment for use in conjunction with rotating electrical machines. This will take into account all of the implementation and maintenance of the FPGA controllers and associated software used to drive and maintain the electronic systems.

Further to this you will be responsible for the design of Test Rigs and their operation for the factory validation and acceptance testing of power condition products used with the companies electrical machines.

Occasional field support during the commissioning and installation phase of projects may be required, however this is predominantly a Heathrow based post.

Person Specification

You will be an innovative engineer well used to taking ownership of different projects, liaising with customers and translating requirements into practical operating solutions.

You must be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of motor and drive applications, their integration with control systems and the software which drives the systems.

Furthermore you must be confident in the use of LabVIEW and its use with cRIO controllers. Familiarity with PMW applications and power electronics is essential for this role.
