Quality support
Control of quality concerns initiated from five areas:
1. Shop floor quality problems.

You will be the first point of contact to the shop floor for product quality issues. These will mainly be issues of mechanical fit, process quality and electronic component specification. General Duties
• Provide technical support to production staff in order for them to be able to produce efficiently and to the correct quality standards.

• Ensure that all internal and external quality related documentation is completed accurately and on time in accordance with predetermined quality requirements.

Person Specification

To attend Sales/ Project handover meetings, to receive and acquire familiarity with the Sales proposal documentation and the client’s specification.
Ensuring that all Technical elements of the project (Documentation, Hardware, Software) are fully understood and that the project team is fully engaged in meeting the project objectives.
Responsible for the production of Functional Design Specifications and Software Design Specifications where required and obtaining client approval.
Generation all necessary project engineering documentation
Raising material requisitions and agreement of delivery schedules with the Project Management and Materials function, specification of material requirements, generation of the project bill of materials and maintaining up to date records throughout the life of the project.
Development of the system hardware detailed design, including obtaining client design approval in accordance with the project milestone requirements.
Development of the System application software and HMI software applications as required, including obtaining client design approval in accordance with the project milestone requirements.
Day to day technical communications with the the project team and external client.
Attendance at client review meetings to discuss specific engineering design issues and where necessary provide system design expertise.
Attendance at internal progress and project review meetings.
Support of the System build and test phases working in conjunction with the Systems Build Co-ordinator and Validation Supervisor, providing solutions to queries raised during the manufacturing process to other members of the engineering, manufacturing teams and sub contractors.
Discuss and resolve with the Project Manager any project cost/ schedule/ resource constraints.
Identify any changes in requirements from the client, discuss these with Project Manager and assist in the agreed plan.
Job Requirements:
A proven history and track record with a good understanding of safety and control system requirements, applications and standards, preferably from within the Oil & Gas business sector, but not essential.
Hardware and Software design experience on PLC based systems and familiar with the IEC 1131 standard.
Experience with OPC and serial Modbus Communications to third party systems and HMIs.
Good IT skills.
Commercial awareness.
Qualification to degree level, or equivalent experience.
Experience of working to Functional Safety Management requirements (IEC 61508/IEC61511) would be an advantage.
Good communication skills, able to work as part of a team.
