This is a great opportunity to join a successful actuarial team here in Bristol in a busy and varied role. The role is analytically finance focused and specifically working on the BHA side of Bupa. You will provide financial and management information, to enable others to evaluate our financial performance, you’ll also be expected to perform projections and risk analysis. This role is perfect for a post graduate in a numerical degree as well as having great communication skills and the hunger to be a success as an actuarial analyst
Key Responsibilities
. Calculating statutory reserves using agreed methods and assunptions
. Calculating embedded value of the business and analyse movements
. Undertaking monthly reporting and analysis, comparing actual results to expected and then plan
. Maintaining and deploying the Prophet modelling system and associated processes
. Undertaking experience analyses and prepare summary reports
. Preparing projections to support the financial planning, asset and capital managment of the company
. Ensuring quality controls on data and processes are adhered to
. Working collaboratively with other team members and internal colleagues
Specific Skills
. Educated to at least 2.1 honours degree in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Actuarial or Economics
. Grade B or better in A Level Mathematics
. Ideally have some experience in an analytical position, preferably involving actuarial work
. Full knowledge of mathematics and statistics
. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
. Ideally have experience of working with analytical modelling
. Excellent IT skills especially in Excel and Access, plus ideally have experience of modelling systems

Specific Skills
