JOB PURPOSE
To document demonstrated proof that equipment, processes and products will consistently lead to the expected results across the business.

The Role
1. Development of validation plans to DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ formats predominently for the qualification and validation of existing and new equipment, manufacturing processes and products. This may extend and link into facilities, utilities, cleaning and software.
2. Assist with equipment, manufacturing processes and product improvement projects, in conjunction with QA Engineering.
3. Developing divisional protocols using a risk based approach that meets current regulatory requirements and industry practices
4. Hands-on operating equipment, running trials, arranging for test work, fault finding are all integral to the role across the Division
5. Writing all validation reports and studies for approval by Technical, Operations and QA Managers
6. Peer validation reports from other engineers and technicans, providing advice and guidance where necessary.
7. Objectively analyse and present data using quality tools to:
a. Improve process performance: capability studies, SPC, MSA, etc
b. Investigate problems to identify root causes and subsequent corrective actions: 5 whys, cause and effects diagrams, IS/IS-NOT, etc

Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Validation of all equipment and processes to produce documented evidence of product stability and capability
2. Develop validation protocols and plans to validate all equipment, processes and peripheral systems
3. Work with all relevant personnel to successfully achieve agreed validation plans
4. Run trials to generate documented evidence equipment and processes are repeatable, stable and capable
5. Write technical reports to document all results from validation trials

Qualifications Skills and Attributes
1. Qualified to HNC or degree level in an engineering or manufacturing related subject
2. Previous process quality experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is required.
3. Experience of working in a high volume manufacturing enviroment
4. Working knowledge of validation and the principles of validation as associated with performance of work for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and/or medical device industries.
5. Knowledge of six-sigma principles would be an advantage.
6. Numerate and computer literate, including the use of Minitab
7. Exposure to GMP principles and working in a clean room
8. Willingness to work within a HPT/team based environment actively contributing to areas of improvement.
