Our Client is looking for a Technical Gas Inspector to be filed based and will be carrying out quality inspections on new installations, plus where necessary carry out any minor repair work that may be needed due to incorrect installations. You may also be required to carry out surveying work for potential new installations.
We would require engineers to have a good knowledge of carrying out breakdown and repair work plus also to have basic computer skills. You will need to hold the following qualifications as a minimum, CCN1 and CEN1. Any qualifications above this would be advantageous, i.e. LPG, Oil and Part P. CRB checks will be carried out.
The basic salary will be £26,000 with an OTE of £35,000. You will also be supplied with a company van, mobile and will be entailed to a pension scheme after a qualifying period.

Domestic Gas Meter fitters required to work on an ongoing contract in all regions of South London and the Southern Counties.
You will need to hold your own Gas Safe Registration, Met1 and CCN1 ACS, possess your own van, tools and pay for your own fuel.
On the plus side, you will be paid £14.00 per fitted meter and should expect to fit between 40 and 50 meters per week. Bonus paid on every meter installed if you complete 50 or more installations per week.
You will be allocated 10-12 jobs per day plus a warm call list.
Typical weekly earnings before tax: £400 to £800 depending on the hours that you work per day. Saturday work is available if required and the contract will last for at least 6 months (subject to your performance meeting minimum standards).
Health and Safety inductions will be taking place throughout March and April with an immediate start thereafter.

The successful candidate will already have been trained in Three Phase and CT metering and be able to work effectively on their own initiative and without supervision.
Due to our Client's specific requirements, electricians who have not previously worked for a metering contractor/electrical supplier and have not been MOP/MOCOPA audited and inducted will not be suitable for this position on this occasion.
Applicants who hold electrical qualifications (16th or 17th Edition or equivalent) and metering skills to CT standard will have a distinct advantage, although the electrical qualifications are not essential if you can prove your knowledge within the metering industry.
This position offers an excellent per meter installation rate of £22.00 plus you will receive the use of a company vehicle, fuel card and all tools.
Competent engineers should expect to earn between £500 and £650 per week on this contract which will last to at least the end of 2010 for hard working installers.
Immediate telephone interviews are available and an induction course will start on 16 March 2010
