Capita Symonds' Regional Businesses Division encompasses the many ex local authority groups that Capita Symonds has acquired. The South West (Swindon and Bristol) and Southampton businesses are responsible for delivering a wide variety of projects and programmes of work including Architecture, Building Surveying & Quantity Surveying, M&E Building Services and Energy & Sustainability to name a few.
Into this busy team we seek to recruit a Business Development Associate Director to take full responsibility for developing the South West business and meeting sales targets in order to expand and progress our buoyant business.
This will naturally include:
Engaging with managers to ensure expertise, knowledge and new services are promoted to all clients.
Business development of new client bases in order to secure delivery of the 'Unidentified Work' element for the Swindon/Bristol Business Plan.
Opening doors with new clients
Utilising existing relationships with a broad range of existing clients and opening new markets to Capita Symonds
Contributing towards Operations monthly MOB reports on sales targets achieved.
Input to future Business Development Plans/Sales Action Plans - This will specifically include the identification of appropriate market/business development sectors, along with the development of strategies for delivery of target revenues within each of these sectors.
Interface with project delivery teams to ensure smooth transition/handover from initially 'Winning Work' to 'Project Delivery'.
Providing timely supporting information to the Business Director to support the business targets, update reports, board papers and other information required. Ideally, you will be an experienced Business Development professional with extensive experience within the built environment. You will undoubtedly have built an enviable network of clients both existing and potential and have the desire to develop new relationships across multiple sectors.
With extensive experience of working at senior level within the private and public sector markets of the construction industry, preferably as part of a medium to large consultancy practice, you will be an articulate individual with excellent organisation skills.

We are looking for an outstanding senior or Principal Planner to join our well-respected planning team in South Wales.
With an extensive portfolio of public-sector projects under your belt, you will have the experience and gravitas to lead the team and provide a robust planning advice service to the Southern Region and in support of wider Capita Symonds Regeneration and Property activities.
The successful applicant will work at Principal level within the planning team, undertaking project management, reporting, and planning applications. Core activities will include:
* Maintaining service to existing customers
* Supporting and delivering planning applications for major projects
* Taking the initiative on new business development opportunities
* Project management, technical supervision of staff, report writing and checking
We are ideally looking for a self-motivated individual, with good communication skills, able to inspire others. As an experienced Planner, it is expected that you will be:
* A Chartered Town Planner
* An experienced private sector planning consultant
* Able to demonstrate experience of local authority planning environment, particularly in Wales
* The holder of a successful track record of delivering complex projects
* Able to take an entrepreneurial approach to business development
* Happy to work in a multidisciplinary environment with a minimum of supervision
* A fountain of knowledge of relevant legislation and policy
