IT Systems Administrator required to join leading scientific company based from their head office based just outside of Oxford. The role would include some excellent benefits including a large contributory pension.
My client has a large mixed infrastructure of Windows and Linux based systems and the roles would involve supporting the operations of those systems, including desktop and server systems. The emphasis will be on ensuring the high availability and performance of their systems. Their network involves cutting edge technology due to the nature of their scientific work.
The correct IT Systems Administrator will have at least three to five years experience and be highly skilled within a Windows infrastructure. Further experience within Linux / Solaris / Unix would also be beneficial. A high level of knowledge within high performance clustering and networking would be required along with a thorough understanding of storage systems (SAN / NAS) and have the ability to solve technical problems, quickly and effectively. Further knowledge within scripting language would be beneficial along with experience of the design and development of complex high availability, high performance computer systems. You will have very strong communications and be happy to work in a team environment.

Ideally, you will be proficient in the analysis and implementation of software solutions for managing systems that process, store and visual large quantities of complex data at line rates for the purposes of data reduction and spotting patterns in data.
