Our client is the leading UK manufacturer of high pressure hydraulic tools. Following a significant investment in new machinery, they now have a vacancy for a CNC programmer/setter/operator.

The Role:
Working in the engineering department of their new custom built facilities; the successful applicant will be skilled in online programming, setting and operating Mori Seiki Turning machines with Fanuc controls. If you have conversational programming experience, this would be advantageous although not essential. You will be familiar with engineering drawings and have the ability to work using your own initiative with minimal supervision. The ability to respond to urgent requirements is essential for this position.

The Package:
An attractive salary package including bonus and company pension is on offer for the successful applicant. This is for the day shift based on 39 hours per week.

As a result of increased demand, significant investment (£12m), and planned new model introductions, they now have a vacancy for a Despatch Cell Leader.

The role:
The position will require you to manage a team of Material replenishment Associates and Fork lift Drivers within your zone ensuring they are working to the required rates and standards whilst maintaining Health and Safety requirements. You will liaise regularly with Production and other departments. You will be required to monitor absence, update personnel performance records and monitor skills matrices for the associates within your zone. The role will also require you to review and reduce the amount of downtime reported due to Material Shortages and FLT availability. You will also complete Root Cause Analysis reports (5 Why’s etc.).

The Person:
A Self-starter who is capable of leading a team, you will have experience ideally gained in a BIW (Body in White) Automotive environment. You will possess the following skills/experience:
• FLT Licence and experience of Counterbalance and Reach Trucks.
• Previous Warehouse Management System experience.
• 1st Line management training/experience.
• Awareness of H&S requirements within a production environment
• A positive attitude towards dealing with challenges, showing a commitment to complete tasks and a willingness to implement changes.

The Person:
Experienced in material planning in a first tier automotive environment, ideally low mix/high volume, you will be a self-starter with extensive knowledge of modern lean manufacturing techniques and how they are applied to a supply chain environment. You will have experience of dealing with an ERP system and have an aptitude for figures IT packages. You will ensure timely reporting of existing KPI’s and further develop these where necessary.

Following an increase in growth, a number of exciting opportunities has arisen with our client who is a global player in mechanical equipment repair and refurbishment.

Typical of the work performed, is the in-situ machining of diesel engines, steel mill housings, press frames, paper making equipment etc.

You are likely to have served an apprenticeship in a Tool room or contract machine shop and possess traditional (manual) machining skills. Applicants must be familiar with working to close tolerances on large projects and be prepared to learn new techniques. CNC skills are not considered an asset. You should be resourceful and able to develop solutions to a variety of unusual machining problems.
You must be prepared to travel very extensively, both within the UK and overseas. You will typically be traveling on jobs for approximately 50% of the time with job duration lasting from 2 days to 3 weeks.

You will be highly self-motivated and willing to go the extra mile to help the company to continue its exciting growth plans.

You can expect to earn in excess of £45,000 per annum. In addition, a Company Pension scheme, Life insurance and staff status are offered.
