Teaching and Learning at KS 3
1. To improve, update and evaluate schemes of work by incorporating innovative approaches to the mathematics curriculum in order to ensure appropriate access and achievement for all students.
2. To agree, monitor and evaluate the KS3 subject pupil progress targets to make a measurable contribution to whole school targets and ensure good value added results.
3. To help engage all team members in the creation, consistent implementation and improvement of schemes of work which encapsulate key school learning strategies.
4. To support the development, implementation and monitoring of assessment and behaviour policies and practices including AFL at KS 3
5. To be responsible for numeracy across the school and work co-operatively alongside the literacy coordinator /SENCO / G and T coordinators
COMMUNICATIONS
1. To take responsibility for the development of line managed staff and make INSET recommendations appropriate to the delivery of curriculum development and improvements in teaching and learning.
2. To conduct performance management reviews for some team members in line with school policy.
3. To assist with the production of team handbooks and other appropriate documentation, disseminate information and consult colleagues as necessary.
4. To represent the team at appropriate school meetings and committees; chair team meetings; liaise with Senior Management, Governors and Inspectors as required.
5. To help promote Mathematics to students, parents and the community.
6. To assist in the completion of all planning documents, reports and returns within the designated deadline.
7. To help contribute to Sixth Form enrichment activities through the enrichment week, and any other appropriate extra-curricular work.
8. To keep up to date with local and national Mathematics policies and initiatives
