Nutritional Nurse Lead Permanent, Full time £45,000 per annum Pulse is recruiting a Nutritional Nurse Lead for a large private hospital based in South East London that provides healthcare services across a wide range of specialties. The Nutrition Nurse Lead will have an integral role within the current Nutritional Support Team and Nutrition Steering Committee (NSC). The specialist nurse will work to provide advanced care to patients receiving nutritional support. Duties and Responsibilities • To develop a Nurse Led Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition Service • To work closely with the Dietetic team • To provide expert advice to patients requiring enteral or parenteral feeding • To introduce a new Outreach service for the placement of NG tubes • Advise nurses’ on the management of long term enteral feeding i.e. percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) feeding, and support patients who may me experiencing complications i.e. buried bumper syndrome • Recognise complications of total parenteral nutrition, and support nurses initiate appropriate actions as necessary • Work closely with clinical HODs in investigating incidents and introducing new systems / training to improve practice • Be proficient in the preparation processes needed for patients’ home discharge on enteral feeding, and contribute towards the necessary arrangements for safe discharges into the community • Provide specialist and practical advice for patients and families leading up to their discharges on enteral feeding • Keep up to date with evidence based guidelines (i.e. British Association of Parental and Enteral Nutrition (BAPEN), and revise hospital processes to ensure their relevance and practicability Skills & Experience • Extensive experience with Parenteral / Enteral feeding • Achieved or working towards a recognised Nutrition related post-graduate qualification • Experience as CNS EN/TPN or Nutrition Link Nurse • Have excellent knowledge in, and practical skills for placing enteral feeding tubes (i.e. nasogastric tubes) and checking placements (i.e. pH monitoring and Cortrak) • Previous experience of managing a small team • Expertise working within relevant specialities including but not limited to: nutrition support (oral, enteral and parenteral), gastrointestinal conditions, medical and surgical wards, oncology, ITU/critical care, and Bariatric. Cosmetic Theatre Nurse – Recovery and Scrub Permanent, Full time Central London £30,000 - £35,000 per annum Pulse is recruiting experienced Cosmetic Theatre Nurses for one of the largest cosmetic surgery providers in the UK to work in their Central London hospital. We are looking for a Recovery or Scrub Nurse with a minimum of 1 years experience preferably some theatre exposure to cosmetic/plastic surgery. However a strong interest in the cosmetic surgery field is a must! This client offers surgical and non surgical treatments to both male and females and the various surgical treatments include: • Breast augmentations/enlargement • Rhinoplasty • Vaginal surgery • Liposuction This nurse will be a key member of the team dedicating to the smooth running of the coordination and managing of the theatre list. Also, liaising with Consultant Surgeons on a regular basis we are looking for a confident and strong communicator with good presentation skills as you will be representing this cosmetic surgery provider. London PULSE is delighted to announce that we are working in partnership with a national charity to recruit a Senior Specialist Nurse for their Healthcare team. This is a truly unique opportunity for a Registered Nurse who is experienced in either, Urology, Oncology and/or palliative care and wants to be office/home based and have a healthy and enviable work/life balance. The service is evidence based and its purpose is to meet the changing needs of people affected by Prostate Cancer. The successful candidate will provide a specialist frontline service, that provides much needed information and support to men and their families via phone, live chat and/or email, in addition to working on the “get back on track” service, which focuses on those who have received treatment for Prostate Cancer. As a Senior Specialist Nurse you will be managing and leading a team of 5 Specialist Nurses and you will also have the direct support of the Clinical Lead. The Senior Specialist Nurse will also monitor outcome targets and assist with the auditing of the service, and as a clinical expert you will attend specialist conferences and events to promote prostate cancer awareness, knowledge and the charity’s information and support service.
