Electronics Technician - Andover - 4 Months • Must be able to follow a documented Calibration Process, involving Oscilloscopes, PSU’s, DMM’s, Signal Generators, Power Meters and a mechanical measurement using an microscope. • Must be able to demonstrate the initiative needed to be able to divert from the pre-defined procedure as needed when the default process will not achieve the desired result. • Soldering must be to a sufficient standard to be able to replace through hole or surface mount components on a PCB. • Previous PCB and component level debug experience would be advantageous. • Must be able to work alone, in a small laboratory, or under the Supervision of a Manufacturing Engineer. • Should be able to eloquently update the internal customers on the progress of their calibrations and diplomatically inform the wider team of any delays in completing the calibration of their equipment. • Must be familiar with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Familiarity with Microsoft Access would be desirable. • An HNC, or equivalent, in Electronics is desirable. Test Engineer 28-32K Hampshire UHV You will need to have experience in UHV or Vacuum processing or cryogenics or Synchrotrons, or this type of scientific instrumentation. The work is multi-disciplined and wide ranging involving travel in UK and overseas. You will be educated to degree level in either electronics or physics. . You will doing the final test, service and installation of the company’s scientific instruments. This covers a range of technologies encompassing mechanical, electronic and ultra high vacuum systems. A scientific background will be a definite advantage in understanding these systems. In addition to excellent electronic fault finding skills, you will require a methodical and systematic approach to problem solving and have strong verbal and written communication skills. You will also have good practical skills and be sufficiently dextrous to be able to work on delicate assemblies. Many products are electro-mechanical in nature requiring precision mechanical skills and good hand eye co-ordination for fine detail. You will have experience in a systems test environment with documentation skills in writing test specifications, procedures, daily log entries and test reports. All systems are computer controlled making a good working knowledge of PC’s and computer literacy (XP and Win7) a further requirement. The successful candidate would be expected to support systems in test and visit customer sites for service/installation as required. On site work may vary from a few days to a few weeks and dealing with customers on a daily basis requires an adept communicator. A passport and clean driving licence is essential. Working hours are nominally 9 to 5, with some flexibility allowed , but it should be noted that the work of a test engineer is not restricted to the normal hours due to the nature of the work involved. Inventor Design Draughtsman PCBs and Assemblies £25000-£30000 - Berkshire You must be a British National from birth or Security Cleared as some of the role would include looking at Defence products. PCB Design Engineer - PADS 30-40K - Multi Layer boards PCB Engineer to work in our busy R&D Hardware department. You will undertake a wide variety of tasks producing pcb designs from production test rigs to high end pcbs using stacked microvias, flexible circuits and controlled impedance differential lines. You will be maintaining the library of components for schematic design and layout. You will have joint responsibility between the design engineer who produced the schematic and the PCB Engineer who should contribute aspects to improve manufacturability, test and emc performance. As a PCB Engineer would be expected to maintain good working relations with the pcb manufacturers and pcb populators. The company is ISO 9001 approved so the PCB Engineer would be expected to ensure that all work would be produced to that standard. The PCB Engineer would be expected to be the company reference point for all aspects of pcb design and manufacture. Service Engineer Home based. 28-30k + Van . You can be based between the M4 and M1. High Wycombe will be the centre of the area. You will be required to do Electrical repairs of heating systems in customers homes. As a field engineer you will have some electrical repair skills . If you had worked on something like domestic electrical equipment such as lighting, Solar Panels, Underfloor heating, Bathrooms or Showers that would be advantageous. As a Field Engineer you will required to meet with the customer and carefully fault find. You will need to be presentable and tactful. You will be responsible for ensuring that a high level of service is provided to customers. You will be providing coverage across the London and the Western Home counties. You will be testing, commissioning Installing and Repairing Both Electric and Wet Heating systems. You will be responsible for assessment and providing solutions to installed heating systems.
