Our client based in Bath seeks a Contracts Engineer in Compliance & Security to join their team on a full time permanent basis.
The primary functions of the role are to manage and control the receipt of Customer Orders into the organisation and acting as the main conduit for disseminating contractual requirements to all functions within the organisation.
To manage all aspects of the import and export Control process including the compilation of all documentation associated with the import and export of components, finished goods and customer returned equipment. Ensure that the Company procedures comply with all Customs & Excise requirements associated with the Import and Export of Goods and the transfer of technical information to and from the U.K.
Act as the Company Security Controller with responsibility for document control, contract security, obtaining approval for international visits (where required) and personnel vetting.
Candidates will have extensive knowledge of the processes associated with the Import & Export of defence related components and finished goods. You will have the ability to manage your own workload and a high level of self-motivation coupled with excellent communication skills both verbal and written. You will be confident working to strict deadlines, be a team player and computer literate.

In this role you will prepare and distribute contracts to suppliers, following up and ensuring they are returned in good time. Maintain the supplier database and provide follow up contact with suppliers requesting meetings and samples. Send letters as requested, filing and generaladministrative tasks. You will also prepare products and product information for meetings and reviews, follow up enquiries from any meetings and attend where necessary, also you will be requesting samples and liaise with the necessary departments when they arrive, you will return samples and manage the sample room accordingly.
This is a varied role in which you will need excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise your work load and be able to work to deadlines. You will have excellent communication skills and be a good team player. Candidates will have a good working knowledge of both Word and Excel be numerate and be able to type well and accurately.

a. To liaise with team managers of relevant production, stock and stocktake issues.
b. To take the lead in the continued development of the Company’s MRP system in support
of complete accuracy of all associated information (work centres, labour allocation, new
part number creation process, costing, operations & times, bills of materials, production

h. To participate in applicable production review/planning meetings to ensure that the
requirements of the Logistics Team Manager are being met for customer dispatch.i. To analyse and report weekly on the delivery performance across all areas.
j. To assist with the development of meaningful production KPIs (work centre utilisation,
efficiency, etc).
k. To set up production areas and supporting documentation that compliments cycle
counting.
l. To play a leading role in Company stocktakes.
m. To assist with Operations strategy planning sessions and implement agreed strategies in
relation to production control.
n. To assist in the creation & implementation of suitable production process layouts and
create process changes to ensure adherence to revised layouts & processes.
o. To support the Operations Manager in delivery of broader company objectives.
p. To ensure that engineering changes are implemented.
q. To ensure that the production control team make-up meets the needs of the company
and propose changes and improvements as necessary.
